The opportunity:
The Senior Programmer / Technical Consultant, working as part of the Architecture, Professional Services Group, to be a self-starter, responsible for liaising with customers and/or internal staff, understanding requirements and implementing solutions based on an agreed approach. He/she will need to understand OpenText products and offerings - to bring innovative ideas, to understand the bigger picture and to shape technical solutions to business problems.
The role manages clients as well as internal expectations and is responsible for the delivery of project engagements. He/she must also be able to work within a team to provide technical insight, creative solutions and options to Professional Services project management, and other technical members of the team. As an on-site representative of OpenText Professional Services, the Technical Consultant networks within the client’s organization to identify client business objectives, issues, and opportunities both within and external to the engagement itself.
You are great at:
- Scripting
- ELT (Extract, Transform, Load)
- Databases and SQL
- Programming
- WebServices, REST APIs
- Become familiar with OpenText software applications
- Develop customized solutions, Test and confirm customer requirements and implementations
- Lead customer on-site implementations and provide knowledge transfer
- Create architectural documents and engagement hand off documents
What it takes:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- 5+ years of hands-on data warehousing or ECM migration work (Plus) experience Knowledge in Enterprise Content Management (ECM) concepts.
- Technical background with high-availability architectures and enterprise solutions.
- Good object oriented design and programming background.
- Knowledge in general data warehousing concepts and ETL tools.
Programming languages: JAVA, JSP, JavaScript, Visual Basic, VBScript, C#, C++, VB, PL SQL, Python, PowerShell, Unix shell scripting, etc.
Thorough understanding of Web technologies and application servers (TomCat, IIS, Websphere, JBoss, BEA Weblogic, etc)
Databases: Knowledge and development of databases concepts, SQL Server, Oracle, etc.
Knowledge of any ETL tools such as, Informatica or DataStage, Data Junction, Pervasive Software Integration, Microsoft SSIS, OpenText Magellan Integration Center (a.k.a. OTIC or Genio).
Nice to have/optional:
Knowledge of LiveLink/Content Server, Mobius, IBM FileNet P8, IBM FileNet IS, IBM OnDemand, Documentum, eDocs, MS SharePoint, Alfresco, OnBase, People Soft, JD Edwards, SAP, BPCS etc., OT Magellan Integration Center a.k.a OTIC, Genio.
Knowledge and experience with various operating systems such as Windows, Linux, AIX, Solaris, UNIX and/or Mainframe and JCL
Knowledge of structured data such as EDI, AL3, HL7, X12, XML, HTML, Jason, FIX/SWIFT and others
Special Requirements:

For New York and Colorado residents, this job is expected to pay a minimum of $74,000/annum in addition to a comprehensive and competitive group benefit and healthcare plan. Individual compensation will be determined based on skills and experience comparable to the job requirements.
