Principal Quality Assurance Engineer

The Opportunity: 
In this role you will have the opportunity to contribute to our highly successful Digital Experience and Web Content Management suite of software that is used by customers all over the world. Senior QA engineers use their programming and testing skills to engage across the entire software lifecycle of these products from design, to development, and through releases using a variety of languages. 
We are an agile development team with close collaboration across development, quality assurance, documentation, and product management. If you like the idea of developing products that are industry leaders, this is the opportunity to be a part of our journey.

You are great at: 

  • Responsible for testing (functional / system integration) including environment setup and configuration.
  • Responsible for test planning and design, bug tracking, test reporting and improvement.
  • Responsible for developing testing tools such as data generation tool.
  • Responsible for investigation of testing issues.
  • Communicate with development and automation teams to improve the quality of testing.
  • Identify and log software defects
  • Design, code, and maintain detailed test automation scripts and test harnesses which exercise full functionality of TeamSite product.
  • Responsible for UI Automation using a combination of Jasmine and Protractor
  • Communicate with development and QA teams to improve the quality of testing.
  • You will research, develop, and adopt best test technologies for the domain. Experience with design and execution of test scripts and harnesses using scripting tools will be an asset.

What it takes: 

  • Computer Science or Engineering degree or other relevant Technical Bachelors Degree
  • Track record delivering quality software development projects to spec and using repeatable development processes
  • Strong proficiency in at least one common development and scripting language (Java, JavaScript, Perl, Shell, Batch)
  • DevOps-like experience in building and maintaining systems (Windows/Linux) and troubleshooting issues
  • Experience with Linux/Unix, VMs, Kubernetes, Docker and system administration within the Linux/Unix context

  • Working knowledge of databases and advanced SQL Query skills.
  • Proficient with command line use in Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Experience in test requirement analysis, test scenario design and implementation.
  • Excellent communication skills

Experience using the following testing tools:

  • Jira (issue tracking product)
  • Selenium or Protractor
  • JMeter or equivalent experience
  • Experience with multiple platforms (SQL Server, Oracle, mySQL, PostgreSQL)
  • Experience with vCloud for using and managing virtual machines
  • Experience with SCRUM
