The Opportunity:

OpenText is seeking a Lead Consultant to provide leadership and coordination of internal efforts in support of the Sales and Cloud Operations teams during the Sales process. Use Salesforce.com and other tools/reports/methods to understand and track the infrastructure requirements in large deals for a Cloud Operations Pipeline Report. Assist the Cloud Operations team to understand upcoming requirements as they plan infrastructure purchases. Support the Sales team and help close new business while ensuring data center operations standards are followed. Create and maintain a central repository for sensitive and non-sensitive documents, establishing appropriate access rules based on document type. Help Cloud Operations meet organizational goals and objectives.

What You Are Great At:


  • Provide Leadership and Coordination of internal efforts.
  • Lead solutions. Solve problems. Resolve issues. 
  • Understand the Sales Pipeline and how it impacts infrastructure planning. 
  • Develop standard and custom reports from salesforce.com and other sources.
  • Quickly prioritize and resolve competing demands.
  • Develop and maintain a central repository for all documentation produced by the Team in support of Sales activities and infrastructure planning.
  • Must be able to bridge the gap between Technical and Sales/Business Teams.
  • Attend formal cross-functional technical review meetings to discuss any non-standard aspects of the requirements or proposed solutions.
  • Attend formal sales pipeline meetings to discuss upcoming sales and understand how they impact infrastructure planning.
  • Develop cost estimates for solutions using standard cost models.
  • Communicate across organizations, ensuring stakeholders are aware of commitments. Manage expectations.
  • Use judgement to escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Communicate within Cloud Operations, ensuring Leaders are aware of commitments, non-standard solution designs and Sales pipeline.
  • Inform Cloud Operations leadership of large and/or non-standard opportunities. Provide advice and recommendations regarding non-standard requests that require executive approval.
  • Maintain and update infrastructure-focused Pipeline documentation. Establish and maintain cross functional relationships to leverage as you seek to understand how to extract infrastructure requirements from reports that contain sales and revenue information.

What It Takes:


  • Bachelor Degree in Business, Engineering or Computer Science with 5+ years’ experience in a technology organization.
  • Experience with system engineering fundamentals in a typical three tier architecture that includes web servers, load balancers, application servers and database servers.
  • Experience developing and creating reports.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Experience managing client relationships or client facing implementation projects in a technical sales or professional services organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate complex issues and make sound commitments that can be met within organizational and operational capabilities.
  • Familiarity with ITIL Processes.
  • Ability to work independently and as a Leader to drive issues to resolution.
  • Must have very strong interpersonal skills including a demonstrated ability to partner with others, manage complex relationships and build consensus.
  • Ability to envision solutions when provided with broad direction and high-level requirements.
  • Must be a fast learner and have a consultative approach with other teams.
  • Self-starter, bold, not afraid to act.
