ROLE PURPOSE
Focused on driving business success, the HR Business Partner provides both strategic and operational HR leadership to an assigned geographic client base, to ensure the company achieves its business goals.
The HRBP acts as an internal consultant and HR resource for senior leaders, managers and employees and responds proactively to the unique needs of the geography. This role will partner with the business in relation to talent management; employee relations, organisational design, employee engagement and learning and development. This includes the identification and resolution of critical issues for the geography and client groups and the implementation of HR policies and practices that align to global HR strategic objectives. The HRBP adds value to discussions with business leaders, making compelling business cases for HR initiatives and offers insights and analysis to the business to aid effective decision making.
The HRBP will work collaboratively with HR Centre of Expertise in Total Reward, Talent Acquisition, Learning and Development and HR Shared Services to ensure timely delivery of business solutions within the framework of the global HR strategy. The HRBP will additionally support the flawless execution of HR management processes and tools.
The HRBP is a member of business leadership teams and will provide specific confidential counsel and support to senior executives who lead their function based from the assigned HRBP geography.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Actively partners with key executives and leaders in the North region with a focus on the Benelux countries, demonstrating clear business acumen and an ability to drive for results and get things done. Prioritises key business needs and drives HR initiatives delivering clear value add
• Applies strategic focus and spends >30% of time on strategic issues such as talent planning, talent management, employee engagement and organizational design efforts. Leads the business through the delivery of key programs in support of strategic goals
• Executes key HR Programs and initiatives in their geography in alignment with global HR and business requirements
• Drives key Netherlands Works Council negotiations in line with legislation.
• Acts as a subject matter expert on M&A activities within EMEA. Partnering with the HR Corporate Development team to provide in region support across the M&A Lifecyle including due diligence, integration & harmonization planning, change management
• Leads the in-region HR accountabilities for legal entity mergers
EXPERIENCE AND CAPABILITIES
• Proven Human Resource experience in a generalist capacity
• Clear business acumen, evidencing the use of insights in the business environment to improve talent and business outcomes. Capable of building a robust HR business case using organisation and financial data
• Demonstrates strong organisation and prioritisation skills, able to manage own time effectively
• Ability to take a pragmatic approach, balancing business imperatives with the needs of the individual
• Extensive experience of Dutch Works Council negotiations and proven ability to build credibility and strong relationships within this forum.
• Able to build credibility and be influential in optimising stakeholder collaboration, driving stakeholders to action and be thoughtful in overcoming objections and secure stakeholder agreement to HR recommendations
• Extensive experience of M&A activity and a sound understanding of the strategic, legal and employee considerations involved during acquisitions and legal entity mergers.
• Experience of business restructuring and org design, particularly in the context of M&A transactions
• Educated to degree level in HR/business related subject
