Principal Product Manager, Digital Experience Products

 

OpenText is looking for the right person to define and lead the next generation OpenText Journey analytics and Insight’s products as part of the Digital Experience (DX) product group. The Product Manager develops product strategy, drives the definition and the delivery of digital media products, applications and cloud services at OpenText.  She/he works closely with the go-to-market team to ensure the product roadmap can meet the requirements of the business plan and can be successfully rolled out.

 

As part of our agile, iterative development model (IDP) he/she works with the product design group to ensure excellent user experience. In conjunction with engineering, the Product Manager defines the development path and priorities and is responsible for on time product delivery while ensuring that overarching product goals such as stability and performance are met. This includes documentation and setup of logistics such as release engineering.

 

Strong emphasis is placed on customer interaction and roll-out activities such as to Pre-sales, Global Services, Learning Services, the Support organization, and key partners, in order to produce the repeatable services and business content necessary for a successful launch and long-term growth of the solution. The Product Manager assists Marketing activities and analyst relations by providing domain knowledge, presentations and demonstrations.

 

Primary Duties

This position is accountable for, but not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Plan, implement and maintain roadmap strategy and scheduling
  • Develop solution specifications, collaborate with engineering and lead the extended project team through the OpenText Product Management methodology for all development projects, releases and cloud service updates;
  • Collaborate with other CEM and OpenText Product Managers to coordinate product features and go to market activities for overall product release strategy and planning;
  • Collect and prioritize solution requirements (from go-to-market teams, customers, competitors, partners, industry analysts, sales and R&D);
  • Work with the product design group to develop customer use cases, personas and scenarios, as well as user interface design
  • Maintain day to day contact with the software development group to refine and revise product specifications and implementation details
  • Provide input to QA for creation of test plans and certification criteria
  • Assist the documentation group in developing released documentation
  • Assist education services group in developing a training program to educate customers and Open Text internal audiences on the details of the solutions
  • Define demo scenarios, support Technical Marketing in setting up demo environments
  • Assist program managers and marketing to execute 'go to market' plans including packaging, pricing, collateral, events and lead-generation programs
  • Work with key customers to acquire and respond to product feedback for future product releases, and communicate roadmap details.
  • Understand product competitors and support development of competitive responses for sales and marketing.
  • Manage full product life cycles including end of life and product retirement programs as appropriate.
  • Manage the existing scrum team working on experience and customer data platform. 
  • Analyse and assist in the development of potential partner relationships that will help drive growth for the product or service.
  • Contribute to and champion best practices, toolkits, and standards, fostering a customer-centered culture;
  • Perform sales support activities including product demonstrations, proof of concept development, presentations.
  • Occasionally serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on services engagements

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience in defining and managing reporting and customer journey analytics solution through product management, experience in customer data platform would be added plus.
  • Strong customer orientation and comfortable in sales situations, proven through former activities.
  • More than 4 years’ experience and demonstrated competence in customer experience workflow and reporting, Journey orchestration/ insights, user experience platform technologies and user experience architecture.
  • Collaborating closely with the UI and UX teams to get a deeper understanding of the customer journey and experience
  • Creating and implementing efficient solutions across platforms and devices to optimize the customer journey and experience
  • Translating business requirements and customer research into detailed definitions, documentation, and functional design concepts
  • Working closely with internal customers, software engineers, project managers, and consultants to complete product initiatives
  • Owning product implementation and contributing recommendations on product roadmap
  • Recent experience in development of applications using modern HTML5/CSS/Javascript is preferred.
  • Experience implementing and Cloud-based application on a commercial cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Google)
  • Skilled in presentations and discussions with business and technical staff
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle process and methodologies
  • Strong communication and presentation skills in English language.
  • Willingness to travel globally, approximately 10%

  • Accustomed to work in an international environment involving multiple development sites on various time zones.

 

The office environment is a general office working environment. However, work outside standard business hours may be necessary due to project schedules and different time zones.
