The Opportunity

Director for Application and Database Services is a leadership role at OpentText Cloud Service Delivery (OT CSD) organization. OT CSD team responsible for provisioning, updating, patching, and day to day operations of the services which enable solutions to the OT Customers. These are enterprise-grade solutions offered to customers across geographies, on cloud, with 24x7 service level commitments.

This role leads Service Provisioning, Application Support & Database operations across various products and solutions. As a leader in India, will be responsible towards hiring, retaining and growing the team. This role will have matrix reporting responsibilities, requiring close collaboration with Global leaders and teams across geographies. 

You are great at:

  • Responsible for all day-to-day Global service delivery of Application & Database Services and Support
  • Build high performance Cloud Operations team
  • Collaborate with Global Business Units leaders to define the vision, strategy, and technical roadmap of each solution
  • Define and Execute annual patching & upgrade plan.
  • Enhance team competencies to support discrete DB technologies, DevOps Skills,  SRE best practices, Terraform/ansible skills towards automation, establish partnership with other cross-functional leads across Application, infrastructural and Development teams.


     What it takes

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15-20 years of experience in Application Services and Database Cloud Service teams, with 5 years of experience in a leadership role.
  • 8-10 years of experience in management capacity for a Team responsible for Application and DB Services support.
  • Technically strong in the domain of Applications, Database, and Infrastructure support.
  • Must have experience supporting services hosted in Private Datacenters and in Public Cloud service providers such as AWS/GCP/Azure.
  • Experience in managing and guiding SRE & DevOps Engineers in delivery team
  • Conversant with Service Management / ITIL processes & procedures.

     Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in supporting high performing environments with large-scale applications & systems, deployed across multiple Datacenters and Public Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Experience leading technical teams of DBAs, system engineers, & application engineers
  • Experiencing  managing teams and services spanning multiple DB technologies
  • Technical hands-on experience in support Application services, Publc Cloud infrastructure, Automation using Ansible/Terraform, etc.
  • Experience in building & scaling up teams
