Lead Cloud Applications Engineer - Citrix XenApp

The opportunity:

As a Lead Engineer with the Citrix Team, at OpenText, you will be responsible for the delivering and supporting large-scale Citrix platforms which provide our employees with access to commercial environments. You will own the delivery of major roadmap items for our Citrix infrastructure and be required to meet challenging timeframe and quality standards.

The ideal candidate will be a team leader, have previous experience of managing a Citrix environment for a large organization, and a sound understanding of the technologies we support.

You are great at:

  • Leading a small technical team to deliver project milestones on time, including investigation, design and implementation of new Citrix features to enhance our existing environment.
  • Delivering support to internal customers, which will include identifying Citrix issues, as well as network and hosted application issues and working with other teams to resolve them.
  • Proactively managing systems to reduce reoccurring issues.
  • Promoting best practice, and quality standards.
  • Knowledge sharing through high standard documentation and communication.
  • Prioritizing workloads effectively in a time critical environment
  • Working independently within a geographically dispersed team


What it takes:

  • Overall experience – 7+ years
  • Experience in Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops v7 deployed in Hybrid Cloud & Cloud environments, preferably including Citrix PVS, MCS and Citrix ADC
  • Experience in Windows 2016/2019 Server Systems Administration, including Active Directory, Group Policy and Patch Management
  • Exposure to user personalization tools such as Ivanti DesktopNow/Citrix UPM/ Citrix WEM
  • Basic Network troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Familiarity and experience with ITIL processes, especially Incident and Change management
  • Willingness to work shift pattern and on call that covers US time zone
