The opportunity:
This role would be part of the OpenText’s Cloud Service and is responsible for the infrastructure monitoring and reporting with cutting edge tool chain. This role would require very good knowledge in tools and technologies with automation, monitoring, log aggregation. The role would need to interface with cross functional teams within OpenText like product engineering, professional service, application support and architecture and be single point of contact. The role should drive through tools roadmap to achieve planned and future goals through innovation. This role involves the planning upgrades, feature requests, enhancement and support end to end infrastructure monitoring and reporting solutions.
You are great at:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- 5+ years of experience
- Resourcefulness - good troubleshooting, research, and investigative skills
- ITIL fundamentals, including Incident/Change/Problem Management
- Experience writing clear technical documentation and user guides with exposure to wiki solution like confluence is a plus
- Passion towards developing solution with Opensource technologies.
- Willingness to learn tools and technologies to support business needs.
- Willingness to support as on call and shifts.
- Collaboration - experience interfacing with various stack like Product Development, Testing, and technical subject matter experts from application support.
- Monitoring technologies like Zabbix, MF OBM, Sitescope, NNMi and Grafana.
- Hands-on knowledge of the New Relic, Prometheus will be an added advantage.
- Unix-based Operating Systems (RedHat Enterprise Linux, Debian, Amazon linux etc)
- Scripting languages including shell/bash, Python, PHP;
- Networking protocols, including TCP/IP, SSH, Web Services, etc
- Working experience with hybrid cloud model (Private Cloud, Public cloud) preferably exposure to GCP and AWS.
- Exposure to containerization technologies (docker and Kubernetes)
- Large, diverse enterprise environments, including working with remote datacenters
- Fundamentals of High Availability/Disaster Recovery design
- LDAP/Active Directory for authentication and role-based access control
- Programming skills, including Python, PHP, shell etc.
- Databases including Oracle, MS SQL, Postgres, MongoDB and ability to write SQL.
- Exposure to SDLC and code standards.
What it takes:
- Should have relevant work experience supporting large scale infrastructure monitoring setup.
- Understand the requirement and turn them into workable solution with tools and technologies.
- Should have knowledge on scripting to customize the tools as per requirements.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks in challenging environment.
- Willingness to learn wide array to tools and technologies.
- Overall sense of ownership of the solution and plan to keep the solution stable under high volume utilization.
