The Opportunity:

      We’re hiring for a team that works on taking OpenText to the next level using modern technologies and frameworks. We are looking for passionate developers that are ambitious, creative, and driven to work on difficult problems and provide innovative solutions.

As a Lead Software Engineer you will be one of the primary contributors to the OpenText integrations and Web applications.  The role’s responsibilities include implementing new software features, fixing bugs, participating in design discussions, working with other teams to ensure that the API exported by the OpenText server is suitable for the web and integration application, and assisting the Quality Assurance team with their test design and bug resolution activities. Furthermore, technically lead the team.


You are great at:

  • Build high performing data storage solutions that promote scalability, reliability, security and performance
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to design, implement, review and deploy new features at scale
  • Identify and promote opportunities for refactoring data stores into higher performing solutions
  • Collaborate effectively with various functions such as Product, Design, Business, Operations, and other Engineering teams to gain commitments on initiatives
  • Ready to support customer issues when required.
  • Exercise independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results constrained by project/function requirements, schedules, and budgets.
  • Interact with internal and external groups as an in-house expert. Has a formal network with experts outside field of expertise. Interacts with senior management and/or customers on special projects.
  • Be passionate about software security, performance, scalability, maintainability, and sustainability
  • In order to succeed, the successful candidate will deeply understand the product capabilities, communicate with others to fully comprehend features/project requirements and work with and listen to others to ensure designs alignments and are embraced by the team members.


What it Takes:

  • 8+ years of experience in DBE/DBA roles on highly available globally deployed systems such as MySQL, or MariaDB. Working Knowledge of other data stores such as Elasticsearch, Cassandra, and Redis
  • At least three years of experience working in a cloud environment (preferably AWS)
  • Experience automating infrastructure deployment using tools such as Terraform, Cloud Formation, Jenkins
  • Monitor database performance, ability to collect and analyze information
  • Large data migration experience - importing large amounts of data from different sources, database replication, archive, backup and restore
  • Slow queries tune up, performance improvement strategies.
  • Solid understanding of the AWS/GCP ecosystem
  • Proficient in JAVA programming.
  • Firm understanding and architecture experience of REST and gRPC based API’s.  
  • Incorporating good software engineering practices such as SOLID design principles, code reviews, source control, CI/CD and testing. 
  • Working in an Agile team environment. 
  • Experience in handling multiple projects simultaneously. Meeting deadlines while effectively managing priorities and communicating progress.
