Lead Software Engineer - Workday Integrations

The Opportunity :


As a Workday Integrations Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to design, develop, and maintain integrations between the Workday platform and various external systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR, finance, and IT, to understand their integration requirements and ensure seamless data flow across systems


You are great at :


  • Integration Design and Planning: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather integration requirements and design scalable and efficient integration solutions. Analyze business processes and data flows to identify integration points and determine the most appropriate integration methods and technologies.


  • Workday Integration Development: Develop integrations using Workday's integration tools and technologies, such as Workday Studio, Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Workday Web Services, and Workday Integration Cloud Connectors. Write, test, and maintain integration code to facilitate the exchange of data between Workday and external systems.


  • API Development and Customization: Leverage Workday's API capabilities to design and develop custom integrations, including REST/SOAP APIs, web services, and other integration protocols. Customize integration processes to meet specific business requirements and ensure data accuracy and integrity.


  • Data Mapping and Transformation: Define data mappings and transformations between systems to ensure proper data synchronization and formatting. Understand the data structures of both Workday and external systems, and develop data transformation logic as needed.


  • Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve integration-related issues, troubleshoot errors, and perform root cause analysis. Collaborate with relevant teams, such as system administrators and support teams, to address and resolve integration-related incidents.


  • Integration Testing and Quality Assurance: Develop and execute comprehensive integration test plans to ensure the reliability, performance, and accuracy of integrations. Document test results, track defects, and work with stakeholders to resolve issues.


  • Documentation and Training: Create documentation, technical specifications, and integration guidelines to ensure proper usage and maintenance of integrations. Provide training and support to end-users and stakeholders on integration processes, capabilities, and best practices.


  • Stay Updated with Workday Enhancements: Keep up-to-date with the latest Workday releases, integration features, and best practices. Evaluate new integration technologies and features and make recommendations for their adoption and implementation.


What it takes :


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 6+ years experience in Workday integrations, including proficiency in Workday Studio, EIB, Workday Web Services, and Workday Integration Cloud Connectors.
  • Knowledge of integration technologies and protocols, such as REST, SOAP, XML, JSON, and web services.
  • Understanding of HR and finance business processes and data flows.
  • Experience with integration design patterns and best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work in a dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with testing methodologies and techniques for integrations.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and issue resolution in integration projects.
  • Knowledge of system maintenance, upgrades, and support processes.
