Software Engineer - Java, J2ee, XML & XSLT

The Opportunity:


The Software Engineer will deliver components on the Trading Grid platform using Java/J2EE in a Service-Oriented Architecture.  Development responsibilities include coding, testing, deployment, documentation, troubleshooting, and production support.  The individual will need to apply significant experience translating given business usecases into system requirements that translate to working software. This role need to exhibit shrewdness in applying design methodologies.  In this role, the Software Engineer must successfully work with the Engineering team and interact with other teams when its required.  The individual will adhere to published standards and the Trading Grid architectural direction to complete high/low level design and development tasks that address business/product needs.

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Work independently and handle product responsibilities (deduce requirements, provide solutions)
  • Should be able to interact with customers to help them troubleshoot issues with our software, co-ordinate with other support tiers


What it takes:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/MCA or a related discipline from a reputed institute.
  • 3 – 5 years Java/J2EE programming experience required.
  • Proficiency in Core Java/j2ee, Servlets, JSP, Javascript
  • Proficiency in Spring and Hibernate  framework
  • Good understanding of J2EE Framework
  • Hands-on experience in using Apache Tomcat and deploying applications in Tomcat servers and troubleshooting issues
  • Web UI development with JSP, Servlets, HTML JavaScript
  • Experience on XML parsing and XSL transformations (XSLT)
  • Hands-on experience in SQL and Oracle database (PL/SQL, writing complex SQL queries is essential)
  • Open Source tools/utilities including Eclipse, IntelliJ
  • Strong in SOAP/REST Web Services
  • Proficiency in ANT and Maven build scripts
  • Basic UNIX/Linux (RedHat) knowledge
