Senior Manager, Database Operations will be responsible for providing support and review for all activities related to Database Operations which is part of infrastructure for hosted solutions.  This individual must lead the DB Operations team from the front in running the DB Services and its stability.

 

You are great at:

 

  • Lead team of Professional DBAs responsible for Database operations within Business Network services, providing technical and decision-making leadership.
  • Managerial responsibility for India based team; Role reports into India based Leader with matrix reporting to global Leaders.
  • Collaborate with Teams within CloudOps (peer Managers, security, Infrastructure, platform support) and with teams from Product Engineering, Architecture, Customer Support, professional Services, and Client Implementation organizations.
  • Work through competing priorities, and projects, to effectively deliver team objectives and guide the team members.
  • Techno managerial leadership with hands on DBA skills preferred (though not mandatory)
  • Follow Incident, Problem, Change and Service Request processes at OT
  • Ensure that Business continuity requirements are met through implementation of disaster recovery, backup, and recovery procedures & preparedness.
  • Comply with requirements of Service availability, Patching/Updates process and client approved windows of maintenance to ensure least service disruptions.
  • Managing the monitoring, support, maintenance, and deployments in commercial environments.
  • Work on any Sev2 or Sev1 incidents, immediate resolution towards minimum Client impact, work on root cause, permanent resolution, custom impact and timely closure of the Problem ticket.
  • Mentoring the team.

 

What it takes:

 

  • 12-15 Years of experience leading team of professionals managing hosted applications, Services and Databases.
  • Excellent understanding and hands of experience on DB technologies (Oracle, MSSQL, OpenSource DBs) and related products
  • Expertise in DB Installation, Performance, DB recovery, DR setups.
  • Work experience in setting up Application Services, Database in commercial grade environments in Datacenters and Public Cloud.
  • Setting up monitoring systems and using tools such as NewRelic to enhance proactive alerting and issue prevention.
  • Worked in ITIL Compliant Cloud Operations environment managing Change, Incident, and Problems.
  • public cloud based DB solutions – e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP.
  • Software Development process, Agile methodologies, and release cycles – integrating with Deployments, Operations processes & procedures.
  • Automating DB Activities
