Sr. Principal Software Architect - Java Fullstack

The opportunity:

 

As a Sr. Principal Software Engineer, you will provide technical leadership on design and architecture of Highly Scalable, Distributed and Cloud enabled Open Text Documentum Applications product suite with direct customer impact. Responsible for day-to-day collaboration with Engineering team to ensure development of technical designs, architectural decisions and interaction with customers and product management team to provide technical direction and visions.

 

Ensure projects are delivered on time, with scalable and cloud compliant designs and within agreed upon quality standards. Work closely with cross-functional teams within OpenText and partner with key stakeholders.

 

You are great at:

 

•         Partner with Product Management, Architecture, Engineering, other technical teams and Release Management to ensure effective launch and delivery of products both on on-premise and cloud to satisfy business needs

•         Lead teams to ensure project delivery success

•         Build and maintain strong customer relationships, internal and external

•         Apply best-practices and coding patterns that ensure world-class solutions that are maintainable, modular, and of high code-quality

•         Create a culture that insists on meeting expectations and delivering value

•         Drive automated solutions that enable better efficiency and process improvement

•         Grow and mentor the technical skills and talent in the team

•         Manage communication cross-functionally and escalate promptly as issues arise

•         Facilitate regular Steering Committee meetings on containerization and present to senior level management

•         Take responsibility for ensuring customer satisfaction during project delivery

•         Maintain project management documentation including but not limited to project plans, issues, risks, action items, scorecards and project sites.

•         Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

 

What it takes:

 

•         Bachelor's degree

•         14 to 20 Years related experience, of which at least 6 years in design and architecture role, 4+ years of experience as engineering lead.

•         Strong design and coding experience

  • Strong hands-on experience with building enterprise applications and server-side

•         Extensive experience with Java Script, Java, Application Servers, Docker Containers, Kubernetes and Rest Services, Spring, Struts, Hibernate and Oracle

•         Proficiency in server technologies including J2EE & RESTful API

•         Experience with Java based aspect-oriented programming techniques

•         Strong / deep understanding of Object oriented design and associated modeling tools

•         Working knowledge of open source technologies: Linux, Apache

technologies

 

•         Experience developing SQL Server based applications

•         Experience with building product installers and applications development

•         Must be confident, highly motivated and passionate about delivery and customer satisfaction.

•         Must have strong organization, communication (written and verbal) and planning skills.

•         Must have extensive experience managing projects with Agile Scrum methodology.
