The Opportunity:

OpenText, Bengaluru seeks a Senior Software Engineer – QA for its File Server Group who has the experience, talent, skill set and confidence to work with a world-class development team at IDC.  The team member will be responsible to work along with product development team to contribute primarily on the test automation and quality engineering for the product.  This includes taking a lead on both manual & test automation planning/strategy/implementation, test case design and various other quality considerations. Showing complete ownership of assigned modules in terms of quality, schedule, and customer responsiveness.  We are looking for people with the right blend of skills, education, experience, and attitude to fill these exciting and challenging positions.

You are Great at:

• Leading the testing efforts for OpenText GroupWise product
• Designing, executing, and documenting test cases for software applications to identify defects, inconsistencies, and performance issues.
• Use bug tracking tools to report and monitor defects, working collaboratively with the development team to ensure timely resolution.
• Create clear and concise test plans, test scripts, and test reports to document testing processes and results.
• Contribute to various stages of the development process, including design, competitive analysis, requirements grooming, estimations, planning, risk management, and actively participating in reviews and retrospectives.
• Engage in customer support tasks by troubleshooting customer-reported bugs, facilitating patch releases, and assisting with other customer related activities like Webinars & Transfer trainings.
• Build comprehensive automation test suites, Integrate the test suites into the test management system, work closely with the development teams to build useful automation tests.
• Able to deploy, manage & troubleshoot servers in docker containers & other virtualized environments. Should create test environments mimicking actual customer environments for troubleshooting issues & testing.
• Ensure the product meet the required security standards. Running various security scanning tools & audit the reports.

What it Takes:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
• 5 - 8 years of experience in software testing & automation development
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Conduct end-to-end testing of enterprise email servers, including SMTP, IMAP, and POP3 protocols.
• Skilful in securing email clients through SSO integration, implementing robust spam detection, safeguarding sensitive information, and minimizing cyber threats.
• Experience leading the testing team.
• Possess a comprehensive understanding of the software development lifecycle and testing methodologies, along with proficiency in utilizing bug tracking tools and test management systems.
• Proficient in Operating System (Linux) concepts with a deep understanding.
• Experienced in managing Docker containers for seamless deployment.
• Basic understanding of System, Virtualization, and Networking concepts.
• Hands-on experience with security scanner tools such as NESSUS & Web Inspect.
• Proficient in programming in Java Script with Cypress automation
• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with all stake holders.
• Openness to working in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
• Familiarity with source code systems like Subversion or GitHub.
• Good Knowledge on Agile Methodologies
• Strong debugging & troubleshooting skills.
