The Opportunity:

OpenText, Bengaluru seeks a Sr. Quality Assurance Engineer – for its Collaboration product group (Retain product) who has the experience, talent, skill set and confidence to work with a world-class development team at IDC.  The team member will be responsible to work along with product development team to contribute primarily on the test automation and quality engineering for the product.  This includes taking responsibilities on test automation planning/ strategy/ implementation, test case design and various other quality considerations. Showing complete ownership of assigned modules in terms of quality, schedule, and customer responsiveness.  We are looking for people with the right blend of skills, education, experience, and attitude to fill these exciting and challenging positions.  Above all we are looking for people with strong competencies along with proven technical expertise on automation, domain areas.

You are Great at:

  • Define Test Strategy, Test Design for Retain product releases (Refine and develop test plans that ensure coverage for new products/features.) and Test Execution responsibilities.
  • Build comprehensive automation test suites, Integrate the test suites into the test management system and custom test harnesses, work closely with the development teams to build useful automation tests.
  • Identify, reproduce and regress bugs, provide detail information for the issues IN ORDER TO facilitate bug fixing.
  • Participate in customer support activities by means of working on Customer bugs, patch releases etc.
  • Participate in estimation, planning, and quality risk analysis.

 

 

What it Takes:

  • Experience in SuSE Linux or any other Linux flavor (in depth knowledge on Install/Upgrade/Deployment of Linux Servers, different patching mechanisms and tools/scripting used in the Linux world).
  • Expertise in Windows OS platforms, beyond user level exposure.
  • Knowledge & hands-on experience on MS Exchange or any mailing servers, mail archiving solutions.
  • Proficient in programming in Java, Junit or any scripting language.
  • Expertise in different software testing methodologies & software Quality Factors.
  • Exposure to Agile, DevOps will be a Plus.
  • 5 to 8 years of experience in QE role for enterprise software product.
  • Good observatory skills, analytical & problem solving skills
  • Self-managed and organized, pay specific attention to technical details.
  • Good communication skills with a passion to excel in technical path
