Sr. Software Engineer

The Opportunity:

Being part of critical Enterprise Output management product suite development team, which is redefining the way Enterprises doing business and managing their outputs from various enterprise application. Opentext is looking for professionals who possess a deep understanding of enterprise software, life cycle, development & quality methodology and hybrid agile & waterfall process. Our products range from enterprise backend/data-center products to end-user focused with team members & customers located around the world. The person filling this role will have the opportunity to establish best practices that help ensure an exceptional customer experience

You are great at:

  • Proficiency in Core Java/j2ee, Servlets, JSP
  • Good understanding of J2EE Framework
  • Good understanding of Spring, Struts and Hibernate  framework
  • Apache/Tomcat/WebLogic containers/environments
  • Web UI development with JSP, HTML JavaScript
  • XMLand XSL transformations (XSLT)
  • SQL and Oracle databases (PL/SQL skills essential)
  • Open Source tools/utilities including Eclipse, Subversion, Bugzilla, Wiki
  • SOAP/REST Web Services – AXIS Framework
  • Basic UNIX/Linux (RedHat) knowledge
  • Must have good knowledge of Design Patterns, db design and hands-on experience
  • Good problem-solving and coding skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Work independently and handle product responsibilities (deduce requirements, provide solutions)
  • Should be able to interact with customers to help them troubleshoot issues with our software, co-ordinate with other support tiers 

What it takes:

  • Experience in writing JSP Custom tags and working with tag libraries
  • Webservice (RESTFUL) Development with AXIS2
  • JSF and Web 2.0 tehcnologies
  • Knowledge of Ant, Maven build scripts
  • Rapid development methodologies such as Agile
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/MCA or a related discipline from reputed institute.
  • 5 to 8 years Java/J2EE programming experience required.
  • Experience with E-Commerce, Supply Chain Management/Visibility, and EDI desired
