The Opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled Backend Developer to join our team and help build robust and scalable backend systems. As a Backend Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the server-side logic that powers our applications and services. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers, database administrators, and project managers, to deliver high-quality software solutions.

What it Takes:

• System Design and Architecture:

Design and architect the backend systems, considering scalability, performance, and security requirements.

Collaborate with the team to define technical specifications and create efficient and reliable software solutions.

• Backend Development:

Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code using backend programming languages (e.g., VB Script, Shell Scripting, Windows Server for Batch jobs)

Develop and maintain APIs, web services, and server-side logic to support the frontend functionality and client interactions.

Implement data models, database integration, and data access layers to ensure data consistency and integrity.

• Database Management:

Design, optimize, and maintain databases (SQL or NoSQL) to store and retrieve data efficiently.

Write complex queries, stored procedures, and database scripts to support application features and data processing.

• Testing and Debugging:

Conduct thorough unit testing of backend code to ensure reliability and robustness.

Identify and fix bugs, performance bottlenecks, and security vulnerabilities.

Collaborate with QA teams to ensure proper integration and end-to-end testing.

• Performance Optimization:

Monitor and optimize the performance of backend systems to ensure scalability and responsiveness.

Identify areas for optimization, such as database queries, caching, or algorithmic improvements, to enhance overall system performance.

• Collaboration and Communication:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, clarify specifications, and deliver software solutions.

Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, providing updates on project progress and addressing any technical challenges or concerns.

• Documentation and Maintenance:

Create and maintain technical documentation, including system architecture, API documentation, and coding standards.

Provide support and maintenance of deployed applications, addressing issues and implementing enhancements as required

You are Great at:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 4+ years experience as a Backend Developer, with a focus on VB Scripting, Linux, Shell Scripting, SQL, Korn Scripting and batch processing, Oracle and SQL Server databases.
• Strong experience in backend and database system administration, including user management, security configuration, and system maintenance activities.
• Database Management: Expertise in Oracle DB and SQL Server database administration, including installation, configuration, monitoring, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and troubleshooting. Understanding database concepts, schemas, table structures, indexes, and query optimization.
• SQL and Database Querying: Proficiency in SQL (Structured Query Language) and ability to write complex queries, create views, and retrieve, manipulate, and analyze data from Oracle DB and SQL Server databases. Experience in data modeling, database design, and normalization.
• Scripting Languages: Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, or Shell scripting. Ability to write scripts to automate routine tasks, system monitoring, data manipulation, and batch processing.
• Integration and Data Management: Understanding of data integration concepts and experience in integrating Workday with other systems using integration technologies such as Web Services (SOAP/REST), EIB (Enterprise Interface Builder), XML, JSON, and Workday Studio. Knowledge of data transformation, data mapping, and data migration processes.
• Knowledge of HR and finance business processes and data flows within Workday.
• Understanding of system administration best practices, including data management, system monitoring, and performance optimization.
• Experience in troubleshooting and resolving system issues, and coordinating with support teams or vendors for complex technical problems.
• Familiarity with system configuration and change management processes in Workday.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work in a dynamic environment.
• Familiarity with disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
• Knowledge of system integration concepts and support processes.
