The Opportunity: 

 

This position is approximately 50% Program Management and 50% Technical Project Management. The selected candidate will be responsible for technical Project Management and Global Program Management

  • As Global Program Manager, the selected candidate will be Responsible for planning & execution of new product development programs from inception through market introduction and coordinating the maintenance activities. This includes the following responsibilities:
  • Program Leadership - Must be very effective in communicating expectations, aligning, and energizing, cross-functional teams.
    • Planning - Lead and manage establishment of realistic and comprehensive plans for new product development and deployment.
    • Drive Program Execution - Provide strong leadership to cross functional teams with uncompromising drive to meet program targets.
    • Risk & Opportunity Management - Pro-active management of risks and opportunities ensuring that appropriate actions are planned and executed for risk mitigation and opportunity achievement.
    • Organizational Engagement - Engages all levels of Management across the organization by exception to resolve resource conflicts, remove roadblocks, & implement risk mitigations.
    • Program Status - Focal for reporting status of programs at various levels of the organization.
    • Having good technical and engineering skills to coordinate and drive conclusions on the technical topics, plan, execute and deliver solutions.
    • Provide supervision, direction and leadership to project teams on medium to large scale global projects with internal and direct customer impact. 
    • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and within agreed upon quality standards.
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams within Open Text and partner with key stakeholders. Align technology solutions with business strategies. 
    • Contribute and drive improvement of R&D processes and functions. Define goals, objectives and measurements for the teams, track performance and show continued increase in value. Must be confident, highly motivated and passionate about delivery and customer satisfaction.
    • Must have strong organization, communication and planning skills. Must have a technical background. Must have extensive experience managing projects with Agile Scrum methodologies.
    • Liaison with overseas product owner and stakeholders on deliverables based on defined specs and those needing further elaboration for new feature development and product sustenance. 
    • Drive project deadlines and targets with accurate reporting to stakeholders. 
    • Provide technical leadership to the team to resolve development issues and find optimal solutions and mentor the team on new technologies. Being knowledgeable in Core C, C++ with good knowledge of databases is essential
    • The ability of the manager to establish a collaborative environment with tactful communication within and outside the geography is core to effective functioning of the team toward the common goal. The ability to gather know-how on the product to assess the defects state and to decide on its prioritization in liaison with stakeholders is an essential function for the development manager.

  • Lead teams to ensure project delivery success
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, internal and external
  • Ensure appropriate and timely reporting against each project
  • Facilitate regular Steering Committee meetings and present to senior level management
  • Provide resource forecasting and optimize usage of resources
  • Refine and improve the in-house methodology and delivery processes
  • Take responsibility for ensuring customer satisfaction during project delivery
  • Ability to effectively lead, manage, and energize  cross-functional teams to ensure plans & resources are coordinated, and project deliverables are well defined, scoped and achieved
  • Ensure project management documentation is maintained including but not limited to project plans, issues, risks, action items, scorecards 
  • Experience in Agile methodologies
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with internal and external customers at all organizational levels
  • Ability to quickly assess unclear, complex, and ambiguous situations and reduce into distinct, clear, timey, and stable direction for the development team
  • Negotiate skilfully in tough situations with both internal and external groups; settle differences with minimum noise; win concessions without damaging relationships; be both direct and forceful as well as diplomatic; gains trust quickly of other parties; has a good sense of timing
  • Excellent problem solving skills

 

What it takes: 

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with Computers, ECE or EEE
  • 14 to 20 Years related experience, of which at least 5 years in development, 10+ years of project/program management
  • Domain expertise in Data protection and Data security solution and application development
  • Hands on experience in Java technology, Spring Hibernate, Web technology , C++, perl and Database 
  • Expertise in Agile development model with Continuous Integration and deployment methodology
  • Experience in Analytics and Business Intelligence is a plus
