Sr. Technical Support Specialist - Lab administrator

The Opportunity:

The Customer Support Lab Administrator will be responsible for daily administration, maintenance, provisioning customer support lab envionments and shared lab systems developed by the Lead Customer Support Lab Administrator/ Architect. The position will require assisting/collaborating with Technical Support Specialists to build out efficiencies, as well as support platform or infrastructur issues that may arrise

You are great at 

  • Fulfills approved user provisioning requests
  • Provide a point of escalation for lab related requests
  • Assists in non-product lab break/fix requests – On-Prem and Cloud environments
  • Maintain lab virtual infrastructure and collaborate with OTX IT on lab requests
  • Assist Lead Lab Admin / Architect in testing and deploying new lab features and infrastructure configurations
  • Review, provision and deploy requested systems in CS Support labs (Cloud) upon end-user request
  • Assist as needed with lab related Customer Support escalations
  • Develop/ Maintain/ Update Lab specific training for Technical Support Specialists
  • Monitoring and reporting on resource utilization


  • VMWare Virtualization Administration (ESX, vCenter, vCloud, Storage and Compute capacity)
  • Strong Microsoft Windows Servers Administration and troubleshooting
  • Strong Linux Systems Administration and troubleshooting skills (RHEL/CentOS/Suse)
  • Working knowledge of: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Microsoft Azure

Optional (preferred)

  • Docker Kubernetes experience
  • Advanced Networking/Firewall Experience (Application Layer focused – preferred)
  • Microsoft Server experience (Active Directory, DNS, Exchange, SharePoint, Azure AD and Microsoft 365)
  • Development Operations experience with Ansible and Ansible Tower
  • Scripting experience with PowerShell, Bash, CMD and Python (preferred)
  • Data science experience (Primarily on hypervisor and cloud usage analytics analysis – preferred)
  • Database experience (Microsoft SQL and/or Oracle)


What it takes:

  • Bachelor of Science degree or the equivalent, or 4+ years of experience.
  • Practical experience in deployment, management, and troubleshooting of VMware vCloud Director or similar cloud computing products preferred.
  • Mid-level working knowledge of virtualization and cloud computing concepts and technologies
  • Practical experience with automation and monitoring tools such as PowerCLI, Ansible Tower, Zabbix and Powershell
