Sr. Pricing Operations Analyst

The Opportunity

  • Support the pricing analysis for new products, in cooperation with product and product marketing teams to develop a cohesive pricing strategy, structure and price list.
  • Collaborate with sales leaders to run experiments, track results, and optimize pricing accordingly.
  • Implement updates and changes to the price books, in partnership with Operations, Business Analytics and Program management
  • Operationalize new product, offering or bundle in relevant system and ensure the changes to the price books are rolled out to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Define (and maintain) dashboards to monitor price performance. Extract insights into and uncover potential pricing issues based on analysis methods such as target price variance, win/loss, customer revenue/profitability, etc. Develop and test specific hypotheses to triangulate root causes of issues.
  • Manage the modification to existing (or implementation of new) quoting tools and pricing software.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders across divisions to ensure consistent definition of metrics across the organization.

 

Your First Three Months:

  • Develop a comfort with our portfolio, pricing, channels and revenue targets
  • Build relationships with the key pricing stakeholders in sales, marketing operations, product management, IT, business intelligence and finance
  • Begin contributing meaningfully to pricing conversations for new products, and re-pricing conversations, taking the lead on new projects that emerge
  • Become facile with our pricing IT systems, and able to make updates as needed

 

Three to Six Months and Beyond:

  • Develop plans for any major pricing changes, leading cross-functional teams to help drive execution of those changes
  • Work closely with product management and the rest of product marketing to anticipate changes associated with upcoming releases
  • Gather input from key stakeholders in our different sales organizations to help identify areas for pricing and packaging improvements
  • Build confidence in your role throughout the organization as a go-to for price escalations, requests and clarification

 

Key Challenges to Overcome:

  • Creating an integrated pricing function for the organization, where it has traditionally been distributed between teams and different systems.
  • Becoming facile with the portfolio in order to make recommendations on bundling and discounting
  • Building relationships with sales, channel, product management, operations and leadership in order to smoothly implement, test and positively learn from pricing updates

 

 

What You Are Great At

  • A track record of good judgment and decision-making in positions with significant responsibility
  • Highly autonomous and able to independently identify high value projects and drive them completion
  • Demonstrated leadership capability in cross-functional team environments
  • High degree of comfort with complex environments


What You Bring To The Table

  • 3+ years’ experience in pricing, revenue ops, product ops and/or finance.
  • Pricing experience (could span Financial, Marketing, Pricing functions) in a corporate role.
  • Expertise with Excel and proficiency with CRM (like Salesforce), ERP (like NetSuite), CPQ and Business Intelligence software (like Tableau) is important.
  • Saas industry experience a big plus.
  • Leadership is a key attribute of a better candidate. And effective leadership is based on knowledge, respect, and impact; it isn’t assigned.
  • You can work effectively across functions (Marketing, Sales, Customer Support) and organization levels (executives, peers, individual contributors).
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

The compensation for this role is $70,000 - $90,000
