Software Engineering Manager

Location: Broomfield, CO (Remote)

Our endpoint QA Automation team is looking for a knowledgeable and skilled Manager to plan and lead improvements to the software development lifecycle for our Webroot SecureAnywhere (Mac) endpoint product and Webroot Mobile Security (iOS, Android) platform products.



  • Plan, prioritize, and drive QA automation initiatives that increase efficiencies in the development process
  • Mentor and lead team of Software Development Engineers in Test (SDETs) to deliver QA automation initiatives
  • Promote Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, and Continuous Delivery concepts
  • Collaborate with Development and Product teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Identify and negotiate future automation needs by interpreting new product specifications
  • Ensure quality of tested products on characteristics of behavior and performance
  • Deliver secure, high-quality, and performant code and products
  • Continuously improve development processes and product quality by implementing best-practices
  • Review and approve merge requests



  • Previous management experience, either formal or informal
  • Previous experience contributing to or leading an Agile team
  • Understanding of Agile principles and concepts
  • Experience defining and breaking-down work for an Agile team
  • Demonstrated understanding of QA automation concepts
  • Experience in procedural and object-oriented programming
  • Experience implementing best practices in software design
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable code
  • Strong English is written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability and desire to learn new technologies and tools



  • A degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with any of the following languages: Python, Shell Scripting, Swift, Objective-C, Kotlin, JavaScript
  • Experience with any of the following tools and technologies: hosted Git providers (Gitlab), Jira, Confluence, REST, JSON, XML, HTTP, Test Suite Management tools
  • Understanding software security and malware detection principles
  • Hands-on experience implementing the S.O.L.I.D. principles
