OpenText is seeking a Director of Ecommerce & Online Experiences to drive the direction of our websites’ functionality and scale growth of our ecommerce business. This role will own the ecommerce sales quota related to selling service subscriptions for Webroot.com and Carbonite.com to consumers and professionals. This person will optimize front-end web design, conversion funnels, check-out and payment options to ensure highest sales volumes.  In addition, this person will ensure any renewal paths, account management functionality and payment processing allows for seamless and high confidence transactions. Lastly, you will be accountable to delivering MQLs to our business segment by utilizing content marketing as a lever to collect contact information.


Reporting directly to the VP of Demand Generation, the Director of Ecommerce & Online Experiences will need to be savvy with marketing technology, content management systems, plug-ins and back-end CRM and transactional engines.  We will rely on you to build and mentor a team of motivated and talented employees required to deliver against your team charter. You will work cross-functionally across key groups including Sales, Marketing, IT, Product & Engineering and Customer Support.


Critical partners to this role are our Digital Marketing team who creates campaigns in paid search, display, social media, SEO and affiliate to drive qualified traffic to the websites, as well as our Lifecycle Marketing team who oversee all customer journey email streams.  You will analytics to continually measure and optimize performance in concert with your peers. You are adept at A/B testing and highly data oriented.


This role is a vital part of the marketing leadership team that will help drive the next phase of growth for the SMB/C unit of OpenText.



You Are Great At

  • Oversight and development of website strategy and vision
  • Accountable to driving annual sales targets for ecommerce
  • Responsible for quarterly trial and MQL targets as part of our bookings pipeline funnel
  • Oversight of web project management including prioritization of projects with Creative Services and IT teams
  • Managing Web team budget, procurement management and tech stack
  • Developing and overseeing governance and standards for the websites, including user experience (UX), accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA), mobile responsiveness, CMS platform, website forms, and web/interactive content
  • Optimizing the site’s user experience to ensure clear pathing for consumers vs professionals vs businesses
  • Creating and managing the wesites’ content – inclusive of landing pages and international site translations
  • Monitoring website use, trends, and user metrics
  • Collaborating with the Search Marketing team to ensure web properties maintain Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices
  • Providing best practices leadership in web marketing for internal and external audiences


What It Takes

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Marketing or Business
  • 10+ years proven experience in ecommerce and online site management
  • Strong experience managing a team inclusive of front-end developers
  • Proven experience managing website end-to-end redevelopment projects
  • Experience in digital marketing programs, including conversion rate optimization and SEO
  • Experience in project management software
  • Experience in the management of Enterprise Content Management Systems (CMS) and system infrastructure
  • Experience in and knowledge of website analytics tools (Google Analytics, etc.)
  • Experience in and knowledge of website quality control tools
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills, interpersonal, teamwork and collaboration skills

For Colorado residents, this job is expected to pay a base salary in the range of $145,000 to $218,000 plus a performance-based bonus in addition to a comprehensive and competitive group benefit and healthcare plan.  Individual compensation will be determined based on skills and experience comparable to the job requirements.
