Our Apple products team is looking for an experienced Principal Software Engineer. As a member of the team, you will be involved with mentorship of other members of the team, drive the architectural direction of our award-winning Webroot SecureAnywhere macOS antivirus desktop application as well as our Webroot Mobile Security secure web browser for iOS, and promote the efficient delivery of these products to market. Additionally, you will help steer the direction of future product offerings and features that continue to protect our users from cyberattacks.



  • Mentor other members of the team in security paradigms and coding best-practices.
  • Collaborate with Product, Development, and QA teams throughout the roadmapping and product development lifecycle.
  • Design, develop, maintain, and evolve the suite of security products for Apple platforms and associated documentation
  • Continuously improve development processes and product quality by implementing best-practices.
  • Keep apprised of developments in the Apple ecosystem, including new technologies and changes to existing technologies.
  • Promote continuous integration by facilitating automation at all levels of the development pipeline.



  • Experience designing and implementing evolvable business-critical applications and features
  • Experience mentoring other engineers
  • Secure-coding and quality-focused mindset
  • Experience working with Apple development languages, technologies, and tools
  • Experience implementing object-oriented design, S.O.L.I.D. principles, and Test-Driven Development
  • Experience writing automated unit and integration tests
  • Experience with Agile principles and working environments
  • Strong English written and verbal communication skills



  • 7+ years experience in software development
  • A degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Swift, Objective-C, Objective-C++, C++, and/or C experience
  • Experience with any of the following: Bash, Python, Ansible, Gradle, Maven, Gitlab, AWS, Javascript, Kotlin
  • Understanding software security and malware detection principles
  • Experience building/maintaining Continuous Integration pipelines
