The Opportunity: 


The IT Enterprise Business Systems team is responsible for all business systems at OpenText.  We are currently seeking a Database Development Manager to lead a team of IT engineers.  The team is responsible for a custom SQLServer, MySQL systems that are focused on automation of online order processing, entitlement data, credit card payment processing and delivery.  It includes an extensive library of web services that interact with many internal applications (SAP, Salesforce etc.) and 3rd party partners.

OpenText has an aggressive acquisition strategy as such our application landscape is constantly evolving.  This position will be responsible for leading the team as we continue to support and enhance the existing system landscape and consolidate systems. 


What You Are Great At:


  • Manage a team of IT database developers
  • Manage 3rd party integrations and integrations with CRM and ERP
  • Work closely with our business leads to evaluate and prioritize projects and enhancement requests  
  • Lead on-going enhancement release sprints
  • Team resource planning and weekly reporting
  • Ensure the team is compliant with IT process requirements and best practices
  • Provide ongoing feedback to team members, including goal setting and performance reviews
  • Manage the teams Ticket (3rd level support) queues 
  • Maintain a skills matrix for the team – identifying areas for development and ensuring a plan is in place to address any gaps (tie into goals)
  • Actively participate in system roadmaps – planning upgrades, consolidations etc.
  • Host ongoing steering committee meetings where appropriate


What it takes to excel: 


  • A bachelor’s degree, College diploma or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of database management experience
  • 5+ years of development experience with SQLServer, MySQL, SSIS, SSRS, Stored Procedures
  • Experience managing 3rd party integrations including payment processing, and integrations with PHP, CRM and ERP
  • Very comfortable with Agile and Waterfall development frameworks
  • An aptitude to learn new technology quickly
  • The capacity to mentor team members
  • Effective documentation skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (English)
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • The ability to handle multiple streams of work effectively

For Colorado residents, this job is expected to pay in the range of  $125,027 - $187,540 in addition to a comprehensive and competitive group benefit and healthcare plan. Individual compensation will be determined based on skills and experience comparable to the job requirements.
