Threat Research Analyst

The Role

The threat research analyst role will be responsible for utilizing proprietary tools and various technologies to analyse and identify malware and current security trends.

The right candidate will have a clear understanding of IT security and Microsoft Windows. Ability to identify new distribution methods and possess strong communication skills.

This role will involve collaboration with various engineering and product teams. Creation and implementation of software modifications with direct effect to our customers. The successful candidate should be detailed orientated, self-directed, and have an analytical/ problem solving mindset.

You will report into the regional threat research manager but also keep close communication with the global threat research team.


Specific Objectives and Responsibilities


  • Analyse data points to develop traces for future classification for legitimate and malicious software
  • Download malware samples within a protected sandboxed environment and perform static and dynamic analysis
  • Product testing – provide feedback in order to enhance our products
  • Gather and perform script analysis and conclude its purposes (malicious or legitimate)
  • Work with various teams to ensure our customers are being protected and make updates and changes where need be
  • Maintain and keep up with steady security data streams

Skills & Experience:

  • Experience with; PowerShell, JavaScript, Visual Basic, Python, C#
  • A deep understanding of Microsoft Windows operating systems
  • Previous experience with IT security
  • Must be extremely well organized but needs to be flexible to handle changes in priorities
  • Able to work independently and set own priorities
  • Must have the ability and confidence to communicate internally to ensure coordination across persons and teams
  • Fluent in English
