YOUR IMPACT

As a Senior Database Administator, you will manage numerous highly available database clusters across various datacenters. You will ensure that availability, scalability, and uptime requirements are met, evaluate development progress and results, and maintain the integrity and design of mission-critical databases. The role requires producing deliverables aligned with the overall Transformation program with minimal supervision, demonstrating mastery in the area of specialization.

 

WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS

  • Manage highly available database clusters across multiple datacenters.
  • Ensure database services meet availability, scalability, and uptime requirements.
  • Evaluate development progress and results.
  • Maintain database integrity and design for mission-critical operations.
  • Act as an escalation point for Engineering, Service Support, and Service Delivery.
  • Resolve issues and incidents within SLA.
  • Collaborate with vendors to resolve product issues.
  • Implement medium and large-scale projects independently.
  • Lead and manage database implementation and software solutions.
  • Design new databases and strategies.
  • Manage design sessions and deliver solutions for complex business problems.
  • Liaise with database suppliers for problem resolution.
  • Coordinate with systems admin and network engineering teams.
  • Recommend and execute database infrastructure improvements.
  • Develop and execute test plans for infrastructure performance.
  • Oversee equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.
  • Handle off-hours escalation as needed.
  • Ensure deliverables meet quality standards.
  • Adhere to corporate policies and standards for compliance and disaster recovery.
  • Document technology deployments and train staff.

 

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience as hands on an Oracle DBA.
  • Excellent understanding of Oracle technologies and related product / technologies used in replication such has Golden Gate.
  • OCP certification - nice to have.
  • Worked in services requiring 10minutes of Response Time to Incidents including experience in carrying on-call rotation pager.
  • Experience in implementing local recovery and disaster recovery
  • Must have worked on databases systems with more than 10TB Oracle RAC.
  • Working experience with Oracle 19C, 12C, 11g & 10g RAC with Active-Active setup.
  • Oracle Grid Control implementation and data collection.
  • Hands on experience with Golden Gate, Data Guard and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in setting monitoring including Enterprise Grid Control.
  • Must have working experience with scripting and automation.
  • Good understanding of Linux OS.
  • Experience in setting monitoring of databases and related technologies.
  • Knowledge of MSSQL is a great asset.
  • Proven experience in database infrastructure planning and development.
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and compliances such as PCI, SAS70.
  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Hands-on hardware and software troubleshooting experience.
