Your impact

We are currently looking for a Senior IT System Engineer to be an individual contributor in the Production Services team to maintain, finetune, optimize application deployment and usage based on efficient monitoring. .

What the role offers

• Focus on supporting applications and infrastructure for OpenText platforms
• Responsible for ensuring that application solutions are consistent with the overall architecture.
• Have the accountability for technical alignment, health and capability of the production and non-production environments
• Running maintenance tasks such as upgrades, provide technical support, and troubleshooting of application related issues
• Have eyes to details to identify how practices can be improved
• Work closely with software development, customer support, and infrastructure teams
• Provide 2nd level support when needed
• On-call rotation will be required for 24x7x365 support of production environments

What you need to succeed

• 5+ years of experience in managing applications/system administrations. Degree in computer science or related is preferable.
• Experience in managing Windows server, Linux server and VMware. Build, deploy, maintain and upgrade OS and applications in the Windows and Linux systems.
• Understanding of software architecture and Microsoft Stack (.Net, C#, SQL and Azure).
• Experience in automation software and scripting (batch, PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, etc.)
• Experience in monitoring software and scripting (New Relic, Zabbix, Nagios, PRTG, etc.)
• Experience with MS SQL 
• Strong understanding of security, backup and recovery
• Basic understanding of network protocols
• Be a hands-on technology leadership role
• Self-reliant and proactive for technical excellence
• Good communication skills and comfortable at working with teams in different geographic locations
• Providing technical guidance to ensure high stability and availability of day-to-day operations
• Eager to learn new technologies and grow to be subject matter expert when needed
• Experience in monitoring cloud services
