Lead Cloud Systems Engineer

The opportunity:


As a Cloud Systems Engineer, you will join a global team where you would be the expert Linux engineer and mentor other team members to improve their skills to build a strong infrastructure where we run OpenText Apps!

Your function will cover some infrastructure life cycle and you will be able to participate in the conception, design, research, development, build, maintenance and monitoring.

To achieve that, we are using great tools like; Git, Chef, Ansible and Terraform among others. We would like you to bring your experience and improve our usage of any tool or even suggest a new one. Our Tech Stack consists of Vmware Vcenter, VCloud, GCP, AWS, Cloud Foundry, Bosh and Kubernetes. We are currently adopting Kubernetes deployments and you would be coming in to assist (improve) those deployments as well as automate and improve our current deployment of Linux VMs. We currently moving from Chef to Ansible, you would have the opportunity to assist in transforming the cookbooks in playbooks.

We want to bring in CI/CD and test deployments, using Jenkins or others.

You are great at:


  • Automating all things!
  • Enthusiastic at improving current methods and strategies
  • Bash scripting and configuration management tools (Chef / Ansible)
  • Passionate for Infrastructure as Code
  • Passionate about new technologies and innovations happening around. Constantly upgrade knowledge on latest technologies and standards
  • Provision and managing of Red Hat and Ubuntu servers
  • Git and source control
  • Recommend and evaluate new and more effective approaches to system administration, including procedural changes, future hardware / software needs and tools to enhance productivity

What it takes:


  • Expert Linux skills
  • Experience in Kubernetes or Anthos or GKE
  • Provide superior VMware vCenter, vCloud, GCP and AWS administration support for several large datacenters located around the globe. This includes testing, troubleshooting, planning and updating virtual environments in private and public cloud platforms
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory, LDAP, Kerberos, NFS, CIFS, DNS, and basic routing concepts
  • Strong team player
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work load and tasks to effectively meet established deadlines
  • Participate in on call responsibilities
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize workload and tasks to effectively meet established deadlines
  • Manage work to meet milestones in accordance with the project plan and keep management and project managers informed of issues and status
  • Excellent communication skills in English


Bonus Skills:


  • Working knowledge of Windows Server and Microsoft stack
  • Working knowledge of PostgreSQL/ Oracle databases
