The Opportunity
OpenText is seeking a full-time Sr. Contracts Administrator within the Support Renewals organization. The role includes the preparation, negotiation, administration, and management of existing and prospective customer contracts. Position supports the Support Renewals and Sales teams as well as the Legal Department, and requires an organized and articulate individual who exhibits a strong attention to detail.
Your Impact
Reporting to the Sr Manager, Contracts, the Sr Contracts Administrator will provide commercial and contractual support to the WW Renewals Organization for prospective and renewing License, Support, SaaS, Partner, and OEM agreements in accordance with OpenText standards. In this role, the successful candidate will be part of the Support Contracts team, working with business leaders and supporting teams throughout the company to advise on new and renewing contracts to achieve desired outcomes. You must bring exceptional critical analysis, business judgement and creativity to your daily role and have a track record of collaborating and thriving in a fast-paced, team environment.
You are great at
- Driving results by taking the lead in addressing queries or issues with contract terms, engaging other teams as necessary to ensure required stakeholders are involved at the right time;
- Independently interpreting contractual clauses, and engaging in contract negotiations with existing and prospective customers;
- Sourcing data & documents for deal reviews, to include analysis of deal structure including pricing, commercial and revenue-impacting terms;
- Drafting, reviewing and tracking agreements, in accordance with defined policies and business standards;
- Reprioritizing plans to adapt to changing circumstances and needs of the business
- Identify and participate in special projects and team initiatives to streamline & improve existing practices;
- Effectively engaging and building cooperative relationships with cross functional teams to drive alignment and optimal business outcomes.
What it takes:
- Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in business or contracting, or equivalent experience in a Renewals environment;
- Additional language skills would be a strong asset but not a prerequisite;
- Previous experience conducting contract negotiations and deal reviews, preferably in technology;
- Legal background with advanced skills in contract preparation, negotiation, drafting and interpretation of a wide variety of agreements. Experience in areas including technology and partner agreements would be considered an asset;
- Attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality;
- Strong capabilities and expertise in Microsoft Office 365;
- Experience contracting with international, Government and regulated bodies a plus;
