The Role

As an OpenText Commercial Sales Executive, you will play a fundamental role in achieving our sales revenue growth objectives within a given territory. You must be comfortable making dozens of daily calls, working with Customers directly and/or Channel partners, generating interest, qualifying prospects, and closing opportunities.


The Commercial Sales Executive will drive our industry-trusted OpenText product line, focusing on our Enterprise solutions. The Commercial Sales Executive will help customers transform and evolve their business by providing the right solution to impact and improve their most critical business processes. 


  • Ensure a thorough understanding of the business area assigned to the required development.
  • Source sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up as a result of field marketing activities.
  • Research potential accounts, identify key players and generate interest.
  • Work to understand customer needs and requirements.
  • Maintain and expand your list of prospects/customers within your assigned Territory.
  • Achieve assigned quota. 
  • Ensure that the revenue goals are understood for the assigned business area.
  • Perform compelling online demos to prospects based on the Product set assigned to you.



  • Proven Inside Sales experience.
  • Track record of quota achievement.
  • Strong phone presence and good communication skills.
  • Proficient with corporate productivity and web presentation tools.
  • Experience working with or similar CRM
  • Sales Certification and SalesLoft experience are preferable.

  • Ability to rapidly understand the organisation and the products that we sell.
  • Confident working closely with Customers, Field Sales, Marketing and related technical teams, and business stakeholders up to C-level and 3rd party teams.
  • An ability to ‘hit the ground’ running and add value quickly.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills [inclusive of English]
  • Strong listening and presentation skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise and manage time effectively.
  • Be directional and collaborative, and embrace the concept of everyone working as ‘one team’.
  • A go-getter and a resolution-focused person. 
  • Demonstrable versatility. 
  • Ideally, a degree in Business or another related subject.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong working relationships quickly.
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent.
