OPENTEXT - THE INFORMATION COMPANY
As the Information Company, our mission at OpenText is to create software solutions and deliver services that redefine the future of digital. Be part of a winning team that leads the way in Enterprise Information Management.
The Opportunity:
This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned AWS infrastructure engineer to work on very decoupled, scalable architecture of Web API’s and applications that powers the backbone of OpenText's Carbonite/Webroot security products.
Together with Webroot—acquired by Carbonite in 2019—we provide end-to-end data resilience. Our company vision is to safeguard people and businesses from the cost and consequences of data loss and cyber threats. We deliver on that vision with powerful antivirus protection plus easy-to-use backup and recovery services.
You will join a full-time, remote team working with development and quality engineering teams to help build, deploy and support applications running in AWS. We can offer immersion in infrastructure code using TerraForm, working with a range of AWS services including EC2, ECS, S3, DynamoDB, Lambda, EMR to name a few. There is never a dull day and candidates will find themselves context switching on a number of different projects to meet the ever-evolving business needs.
You are great at:
- Finding the problem – you enjoy a challenge be it in the POC stage or during a production incident!
- Learning new technologies – they don’t stand in your way of progress
- Interacting with teams and management in order to organize the team's priorities and achieve its goals
- Automation – you don’t like doing the same thing more than once!
- Documentation – you don’t like showing people the same thing more than once!
- Participating in the design of infrastructure architecture, visualizing it and implementing it as code
- Providing assistance to your peers and other teams
What it takes:
- Solid experience with AWS and using infrastructure-as-code to build and manage environments.
- We host applications in both Windows and Linux. Being able to support applications running in both environments is critical in order to support our products
- Deploying and troubleshooting applications running in containers (we use AWS ECS including Fargate).
- CI/CD – Ability to work with and troubleshoot build / deployment / pipeline tools such as TeamCity, GitLab and TFS
- On-the-job experience supporting production web applications and managing incidents
- Ability to script your way out of (or into!) anything. We specialize in PowerShell however other languages are not overlooked (bash/python etc…)
- Self-drive with ability to own tasks end to end and deliver results
- Good English communication skills, both verbal and written
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar field
- Experience in a similar role
At OpenText we understand and value diversity in our employees and are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
