Practice Manager (m/f/d) Life Science & Manufacturing EMEA


As part of the practice management team, the Practice Manager is responsible for the delivery of all Life Science- & Manufacturing-services projects.

Focusing strongly on delivery excellence to a consistent and repeatable methodology, the Practice Manager will be highly commercially minded, able to concentrate the efforts on building and closing of opportunities of high value.


The role requires a sound knowledge of Open Text technology, the Life Science- and Manufacturing-industry and needs to include profound knowledge in industry solutions for Life Science on both Opentext Documentum and Opentext Extended ECM platform. 

Providing management oversight and quality assurance in all aspects of services delivery to new and existing customers, the Practice Manager will prioritize effectively to lead to a successful outcome of the projects.


Experience in running a team of consultants is expected, either from a management position or in leading larger project teams in significant customer projects of a considerable size. Project wise the management of subcontractors is part of the role.

Strong communication skills across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including sales, legal, marketing, the OT Life Science- and the Software Integration-partner community is expected.

Key Resposibilities

  • Management of a team of consultants & architects with special focus on EIM Industry topics, mainly Life Science
  • Individual and team development, growing the team and onboarding of new Consultants including support of recruiting
  • Opportunity management in alignment with local PS commercial teams
  • Management engagement in key client projects 
  • Escalation management and resolution of key accounts for specific industry topics
  • Life Science expert to support key Marketing initiatives 
  • Alignment with Life Science Product Management and focus on best practice solution implementation
  • Driving strategic engagements through Enterprise Roadmap Studies
  • Works closely with the management team of the Practice Verticals to drive business, standardization within the team portfolio, knowledge exchange between teams and creating continuous learning paths within the Practice


Key Skills and Experience

  • Degree in a technical or economic field of study
  • A minimum of 7 years Consulting experience and a minimum of 2 years management experience and/or long-term project management experience leading teams of significant size
  • Proven track record of successful Life Science industry projects
  • Deep Life Science Industry & Consulting background and proven project experience in key account projects with OpenText core technology
  • Excellent people management and motivational skills
  • Very good commercial understanding and proven experience
  • As a communicative and presentational personality, you have a business fluent command of English
  • Proven experience in the sales of industry specific IT solutions & services
  • Create team environments which emphasize total cooperation and mutual respect
  • Outstanding communication skills and excellent negotiating skills, very good presentation skills
  • Strong business acumen and capable of developing and managing strategic plans with partner and company executives
  • Proven history of analysing situations, employing creative and effective decision making to solve problems/ achieve results
