Sr. Software Engineer in Test

The Opportunity: 

The Digital Media Group of OpenText’s Digital Experience division is delivering Digital Experience platform for helping our customers target their message and deliver increased results using AI and ML concepts.


We are looking for talented, experienced quality assurance engineers to join the OpenText Product Development organization. In this role, you will own the end to end QA automation process and will be writing code to test our products.  You will have the opportunity to directly support our product and our customers by innovating on new ideas and methods in machine learning and artificial intelligence. You will be a member of a dedicated scrum team focused on quality assurance both manual and automation.  In this role, you will work closely with software developers, documentation, and product management as well as other scrum teams. You are great at: 


  • Developing and maintaining test strategies and test cases while performing all testing activities including functional, integration and regression testing
  • Automating test cases using appropriate frameworks and methods.
  • Designing/Developing/Maintaining the Automation Framework. Also, setting up regular execution test beds for continuous delivery
  • Thinking outside the box and figuring out how to break the software
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting product and environmental issues as they arise
  • Communication both written and oral as well as communicating with software developers and product managers globally.
  • Being passionate about all aspects of software development at all levels: architecture, design, implementation, test, and deployment.


What it takes:


  • Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science or equivalent with 4+ years of experience with test-driven, behavior-driven, or acceptance test-driven developments
  • Experience in testing complex enterprise-level applications
  • Experience in automation frameworks and tools like Selenium
  • Experience testing RESTful web services.
  • Knowledge of bug tracking tools such as Jira
  • Solid testing experience with SQL and database technologies (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, etc.)
  • Experience in ML and data analytics is a plus.
  • Experience in Hadoop, Cassandra, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Spark is a plus
  • Experience with Gitlab, Jenkins, Teamcity or similar systems
  • Experience testing software in Unix, Linux, and Windows systems
  • Good understanding of performance and security aspects of software development
  • Experience working with Docker, Kubernetes and Helm
