Manager (m/f/d) Software Engineering
In this leading role, you will be responsible for a team of highly skilled professionals contributing to components and solutions integrating the capture technology into business solutions. More specifically, the team you lead is designing, building, and maintaining the components bringing the capture technology to OpenText xECM, SAP or SalesForce.
You will work closely with the product management team to review product requirements and ensure that your team understands the product goals and commitments. You keep quality and customer success in mind and critically review the approaches the team selects for addressing the requirements. You promote sustainable, repeatable software solutions patterns and guide the team though the adoption.
You should feel comfortable working closely with product management, architecture, DevOps and other SMEs. We expect you to bring great soft skills and mentor a team of outstanding engineers. Through the effective use of mentoring, coaching and leadership skills you contribute to the effective departmental culture that is aligned with OpenText values.
The success of the components your team delivers, represents the success for all technologies that capture uses under the hood. In your position you are expected to drive the innovation and adoption of the technologies that help evolving the capture portfolio into a next generation intelligent capture.
This is what awaits you with us:
- Lead, coach and manage engineering team of professionals working on the components integrating capture functionality into business solutions
- You own the responsibility to guide the team in finding the adequate technical approaches to address requirements and strategic objectives; you communicate it comprehensively down the team as well as upwards to the project/product stakeholders
- Actively participate collaboration across the teams, both inside as well as outside capture organization to establish adequate transparency towards stakeholders from product management, architecture, operations, and support
- Help product management and customer support managing the expectation toward customers both internal as well as external
- Advocate for the team you lead make sure team has adequate means for delivering against the target
This is what we expect from you:
- Results oriented, experienced person bringing a proven track record of success technically leading an engineering team or adequate experience
- Sharp minded personality, bringing ability to grasp quickly complex subjects from a dynamic, fast evolving environment and can break them down to the items that engineering team can process
- Comfortable representing the supervised portfolio to peers, stakeholders, and consumers
- Proven ability to work in a geographically distributed team, across time zones and cultures
- Experience utilizing agile development methodologies in practice
- Ability to recruit, build and lead a strong engineering team in turbulent, fast evolving environment
- Ability to collaborate and build trust and alliances with many internal teams and circles
- Fluent English language and at least good German language skills, both written and spoken
