An exceptional opportunity has arisen within OpenText’s in-house legal team based in Grasbrunn/Munich for an experienced lawyer to join us as

Senior Legal Counsel (m/f/d)

This is a role with broad responsibilities, including: drafting and negotiating a wide variety of commercial agreements in support of the DACH region sales activity, including software licensing, professional services and cloud services agreements, resolving commercial disputes, being involved in group M&A transactions and general corporate matters as well as monitoring changes in laws and regulations.   

This is what we expect from you: 

• Qualified German lawyer (Volljurist or Wirtschaftsjurist,) with 6+ years post qualification experience, excellent German and English written and verbal communication and drafting skills with strong attention to detail 
• Experienced negotiator with a significant track record in successfully closing complex deals; experience in negotiating IT contracts (e.g., license sales, cloud and professional services agreements) would be advantageous. You will benefit from having worked within a matrix organization of a publicly listed company
• A strong academic record and solid experience from working in a law firm and/or in-house within a multinational environment in commercial law; experience in other legal fields like corporate, tax, IP/trademark and/or tenancy law is an additional benefit
• You will be enthusiastic, hard-working, enjoy working in a team environment and confident working at a senior level with professional colleagues
• Building strong working relationships with various lines of business and putting yourself in the shoes of those you are advising, to understand the complexities of a multi-faceted business, are important parts of the role
• The ability to communicate clearly, solve problems and provide commercially focused advice is essential
• You are skilled in the art of negotiation and drafting of commercial agreements to support  sales executives with closing deals
