Senior Manager (m/f/d) Software Engineering
You will be responsible for a geographically distributed team of experts contributing to the capture portfolio. The focus of the team concentrates, but is not limited to, the classification and extraction techniques for both image data as well as textual data. The portfolio you supervise comprises of several critical component that the capture portfolio is building upon, and you own the responsibility for shipping these in timely manner, meeting the criteria for quality and functionality.
As a leader, you will drive the process of translating the key objectives for capture products as well as product owners’ requirements into activities at engineering. You promote sustainable, repeatable software solutions patterns and guide the team though the adoption. OpenText highly values quality and customer success and therefore you are expected to critically review the approaches and solutions the team selects for addressing the objectives.
You drive multiple engineering functions as your team is designing, presenting, building, and maintaining the information extraction and document classification components, sitting the heart of the capture solutions developed at OpenText.
In your leading position you will drive the innovation and adoption of the technologies and help evolving the capture portfolio into next generation intelligent capture. Capture team harnesses today both traditional machine learning technologies as well as the latest technologies from Artificial Intelligence stack including Computer Vision or Natural Language Processing.
This is what awaits you with us:
- Lead, coach and manage engineering team of professionals working on the data science, research & development, design and implementation of information extraction and document classification domain
- You own the responsibility to guide the team in finding the adequate technical approach to requirements and strategic objectives and communicate them comprehensively down the team as well as upwards to the project/product stakeholders
- Drive collaboration across the teams, both inside as well as outside capture organization to secure buy-in from supervisors, product management, architecture, operations and support
- Drive the alignment towards the consumers, stakeholders, and suppliers; install adequate level of transparency, manage the expectation toward customers both internal as well as external
- Advocate for the team you lead - build it and set it up the way which allows the team to deliver against the target
This is what we expect from you:
- Results oriented with a proven track record of success leading an engineering team in a dynamic, fast evolving environment where management of complex product requirements is a critical driver of success
- Experience working with portfolio targeting large enterprises and comprising of extensive source code base
- Good orientation in the software industry, good ability to assess different subjects fast and right
- Comfortable representing the supervised portfolio to peers, stakeholders, and consumers
- Proven ability to work in a geographically distributed team, across time zones and cultures
- Demonstrated experience utilizing agile development methodologies in practice
- Strong ability to recruit, build and lead an engineering team in turbulent, fast evolving environment
- Ability to collaborate and build trust and alliances with many internal teams and circles
- Fluent English language and at least good German language skills, both written and spoken
