The opportunity
The role Cloud Application Engineer is to build & Support solutions to enhance availability, performance,and stability of OpenText services as well as automating away repetitive work. What it takes
- Take ownership and accountability for the incident resolution process and SLAs.
- Responsible for infrastructure setup, Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery, deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and operations across multiple environments.
- Plan and perform on-going application enhancement and maintenance.
- Act as a technical liaison with other teams to evaluate and report bugs.
- Create and maintain monitoring and alerting solutions to ensure that unexpected issues are promptly identified and escalated.
- Responsible for problem management process and to identify the root cause of issues.
You are great at
- Knowledge of Linux.
- Knowledge of Java applications and how to support them.
- Knowledge of Monitoring (APM + Synthetic), Examples: New Relic, Dynatrace, Nagios/Check_mk or Zabbix.
- Knowledge of middleware/webserver, preferably: Tomcat, Apache, JBOSS, and Resin, (in the order of listing).
- Knowledge of Java applications and how to support them.
- Knowledge of Scripting in Shell, Perl, etc... (at least proficiency in one).
- Knowledge of tools like ELK or Splunk used for centralized logging.
- We are looking for someone with 2-3 years of experience (or the ability to show that level of expertise)
- Someone that is motivated and a self-starter
- Strong Work Ethic
- Knowledge of EDI a plus
