The Opportunity:

 

The role Site Reliability Engineer will be responsible for providing support and review for all activities related to hosted Applications on Cloud.  This individual must understand thoroughly of current design with hands-on technical experience.  The role will also help support development of innovative solutions in cloud and infrastructure technologies.

 

You are great at:

 

  • Collaborate with teams from Product Development, Professional Services and Customer Support teams to Deploy Services / Applications.
  • Be an expert on Datacenter migration of Applications/Services, and Disaster Recovery Planning & execution.
  • Work on Post Implementation Review process for bugs, fixes, and issues encountered in active production instances.
  • Actively support production incidents, problems, and on root cause analysis.
  • Provide feedback with Engineering and Professional Services teams to make services stable and resilient.
  • Develop/enhance OpenText Automated Deployment strategy
  • Knowledge on integration points of hosted Applications and related implementation expert for CloudOps
  • Work with 3rd party vendors and their support organizations for any impact to OT hosted solutions
  • Ability to prioritize work to ensure timely project deliveries.
  • Available to work on weekends to scheduled maintenance activities and Deployments.
  • On rotation monthly 24x7 oncall support.

 

What it takes:

 

  •  Bachelor’s degree in computer sciences or related.
  •  Minimum 7 to 9 years of experience in Cloud Applications and Platforms.
  • Install, upgrade and managing the platform clouds such as Cloud Foundry and Kubernetes.
  • Platform architecture and design
  • Proactive monitoring, tuning, periodic maintenance and capacity planning
  • Good technical understanding on Virtualization, Cloud, IaaS & PaaS domain.
  • Able to automate tasks with Python, Go or Shell-script.
  • Devops skills like Terraform, concourse, Gitlab.
  • Maintaining the platform with High availability.
  • Terraform an IAAC to create kubernetes clusters in GKE.
  • BOSH to deploy cloud foundry platform on Infrastructure.
  • Expertise in analyzing Application containers performance, reviewing JVM Settings & thread dumps.
  • Familiarity with Tomcat, WebLogic, WebMethods integration platform and technologies such as JMS Broker ActiveMQ, and Apache webservers.
  • Working experience on RedHat and Windows Operations Systems based Physical / VM Machines.
  • Familiar with Container based Application Deployments and DevOps tools.
  • Experience in Dockers and Kubernetes based deployments.
  • Work experience on public cloud platforms such as GCP and AWS.
  • Review product design documents to ensure compliance with architecture standards.
  • Proficiency in writing scripts (bash, ksh, perl, Powershell , Expect, AWK, Python is a plus)
  • Developing and maintaining detailed documentation of work
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving techniques
  • Experience on monitoring tools such as JIRA, HP OM, New Relic, Zabbix, etc.
  • Understanding of ITIL processes 
  • Familiarity with LoadBalancers/F5, Firewalls, SMTP, DNS Services, Networking protocols.
