Sr. Cloud Network Administrator

The Opportunity :

This teams responsibilities are focused on day-to-day technical support, proactive performance monitoring, project-driven implementations, and capacity planning, in order to maintain a stable, resilient environment. Working together to evaluate new and emerging technologies, development of standards and procedures, and leading or assisting projects across platform teams, such as upgrades, migrations, or creating new environments to support business applications. Great emphasis is placed on automation and Infrastructure as Code (Iac) as well as assisting architects is required.

You are good at :

  • Actively participate in the development of Enterprise network design with a focus on fault tolerance, security, and high-availability spanning multiple computing clusters, data centers and private/public/hybrid cloud architectures

  • Deploy, maintain, and continually optimize network configurations for both cloud-based and hybrid architectures, using the different network offerings of each cloud provider (eg. AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.) while maintaining focus on a single hybrid backbone

  • Work with other support teams to aid in adoption of CI/CD practices to integrate with core cloud platform management and automate the build and management of all network resources

  • Provide technical expertise for organizational projects, troubleshoot and resolve complex technical network performance and security issues

  • Proactively analyze existing network and application architectures and behaviors to identify improvements to better support critical initiatives

  • A strong, confident communicator with project coordination skills who can lead and collaborate with other IT engineers and operation support individuals across various subject areas

  • A teammate who thrives on collaborative efforts

  • Flexible to work after hours and weekends when required

What it takes:

  • 10+ years of related experience, or equivalent Intermediate and advanced level certifications that demonstrate knowledge of network and security concepts

  • A solid networking (routing and switching) foundation, with an in-depth understanding of network protocols and applications, such as OSPF, BGP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, SSL/TLS/Encryption, SNMP, Netflow, etc.

  • Professional experience implementing and supporting cloud services (eg. AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.)

  • Building a hybrid cloud backbone, optimizing connectivity between cloud providers and on-premises data centers

  • Strong understanding of SDWAN and connectivity to CoLo’s.

  • Scripting experience in cloud-focused languages, such as Python, Terraform, CloudFormation, etc. to facilitate automation and troubleshooting.

  • experience using RESTful API's to query supported applications

  • Experience and Understanding of the network security components and offerings from the different cloud services.

  • Experience with third-party cloud security tools, such as Palo Alto’s Prisma Cloud.

  • Proven understanding of virtual hypervisors, server hardware technologies, SAN and NAS and other storage technologies, Active Directory, Linux/Unix, and load-balancers (F5, Citrix, etc).

  • Strong troubleshooting and performance analysis skills using packet capture and sniffer tools (wireshark, tcpdump, Extrahop, etc).
