The opportunity:

The Lead Consultant, working as part of the COE, to be a self-starter, responsible for liaising with customers and/or internal staff, understanding requirements and implementing solutions based on an agreed approach. He/she will need to understand OpenText products and offerings to understand the bigger picture and to shape technical solutions to business problems.

The role manages clients as well as internal expectations and is responsible for the delivery of project engagements. He/she must also be able to work within a team to provide technical insight, creative solutions and options to Professional Services project management, and other technical members of the team.

You are great at:

  • Representing OpenText in a professional manner to customers, partners and other OpenText personnel always
  • Attending new business meetings with the business development team to act as the subject matter expert as required
  • Understand customer needs and develop high-quality presentations, proposals and software demonstrations that speak of these needs.
  • Lead a team of consultants reporting to a project manager while assigned to active customer engagements. Collaborate with the project manager to define the project plan, risk mitigation plan, quality checklists and regularly communicate status to the project manager. Proactively identify issues and implement preventive/remedial measures
  • Understand requirements, assist client facing team members in envisioning and documenting the technical architecture, conduct detailed design, determine level of effort, plan work breakdown structures and implementation approach
  • Become familiar with OpenText software applications
  • Recognize and report additional opportunities during customer engagements

 

What it takes:

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree preferably related to Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of Work experience in designing, developing, or maintaining production-grade enterprise solutions.
  • Good Experience in Java & J2EE software development and good experience in HTML/ JavaScript, AngularJS, and other web technologies.
  • Should have strong experience in developing UI applications.
  • Experience in integrating front end applications with SOAP based, RESTful Middle-Tier Applications
  • Proficiency with XML, SOA, Object Orientation, SQL databases, network architecture.
  • Very good knowledge of Single Sign-on mechanisms and related standards.
  • Good understanding of internet protocols, network, and application security methods
  • Knowledge of RDBMS concepts and hands on experience in working on oracle, PostgreSQL, and SQL server - Structural / unstructured database, query management experience Good object-oriented design and programming background.
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to present complex technical topics in a manner non-technical stakeholder can easily understand.
  • Good team player with effective motivation skills, collaboration, and prioritization skills
  • Strong planning and analytical skills combined with ability to work with geographically distributed teams in a rapid development model.
