Job Description

Position Description: Agile coach and Trainer position in Products & Cloud (Engineering)

Position: Agile coach and Trainer – Hyderabad, India

Position Overview:

OpenText is seeking an Agile Coach & Trainer for the Products & Cloud (Engineering) department. The role of Agile Coach & Trainer is dedicated to training, coaching, and mentoring the Engineering organization (software development) in its adoption and implementation of agile development methods. These are based on industry standard Scrum, XP, Kanban, and Lean principles. The goal is to improve quality, eliminate waste, deliver high customer value, and spread a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

You will be:

  • Delivering classroom training to educate members of the global product development and product management organization on Agile development theory and practices
  • Utilization of different coaching techniques (i.e., Facilitation, Conflict Resolution, Navigation, Problem Solving) to work with teams and individuals to improve their outcomes using Agile principles and practices
  • Assisting with creation and improvement of Agile program material. This includes course materials, recorded tutorials, wiki of best practices and resources, process documents, etc.
  • Participating in development of future program strategy to drive improvements in product development projects across Engineering
  • Participating in the local Agile events and hosting / conducting such similar events at OpenText
  • Updating yourself with the emerging industry practices in the Agile area

Knowledge and Skills:

  • 9+ years’ experience in using and teaching Agile Methodologies (e.g., Scrum, XP)
  • 9+ years’ experience in a teaching/coaching or equivalent leadership role
  • 9+ years’ experience in Software Development environment working with different roles and functions
  • Excellent understanding of Agile fundamentals and principles
  • Excellent presentation, writing and verbal skills for communicating complex information clearly
  • Excellent interpersonal and social skills for building relationships across many different cultures and dealing with many different roles and levels within a large organization
  • Able to use experience and knowledge to provide practical and effective advice and guidance for dealing with a wide range of situations and challenges
  • Computer Science Degree or 9-12 years in a technical environment
  • Certified Scrum Master and/or Certified Scrum Professional+, involved in Scrum/Agile Alliance
  • Experienced with Windows and Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Experience with Agile project management tools (JIRA Agile) is an asset
