The role:


Unique opportunity for a Regional Vice President, who has an excellent record in providing vision and strategic leadership for an international software business in Africa.

In this role you'll focus on successful territory prioritization, leveraging channels, diverse cultural, political and language dynamics for an international software organization across Africa. You will be experienced in sales management, building high performance and inclusive sales teams and driving Go-To-Market strategy for growth in new markets. You will contribute to building the brand for the organization through marketing, social media presence and broad-based platforms. You will be influential of overall team culture and creating identity for OpenText Africa team beyond sales.




  • Overall responsibility for the OpenText business in Africa
  • GTM: Driving go to market strategy for all OpenText solutions across this territory, Africa including all countries, except for Egypt
  • Strategy: Driving OpenText Growth strategy through the sales of new products and into new territories
  • Team management: Hiring, managing, consolidating the best direct sales team to achieve the growth targets
  • Stakeholder Relations: Stakeholder relations with Media, executive level in customers, executive level in partners
  • Forecasting: Manage and report on forecast across on premise license and cloud revenue weekly, and manage quarterly business to achieve quarterly targets
  • Negotiation: supporting sales with negotiation and closing on opportunities
  • Partner Management: Engagement with partners across all regions from contractual, sales activity, escalations, market development and all other perspectives
  • Marketing Plan: Oversee marketing plan and all marketing activities to ensure pipeline development
  • Media: Conduct interviews with Media, thought leadership, drive branding on social media through regular, topical and relevant content posts
  • Customer Relationship: Manage customer escalations, relationships and ensure customer success by leveraging all supporting divisions within OpenText
  • Professional Services: Manage communication with Professional Services for delivery success where engaged, and connect Professional Services to sales and partners to facilitate customer success
  • Staff: Manage all aspects of all African staff well-being in terms of culture, team-building, inclusion, performance, integration, benefits, Covid-19, etc.
  • BEE: Manage and oversee all BEE activity to ensure Level-1 rating including liaising with executive leadership team at OpenText, external BEE consultants, BEE auditors, BEE shareholders and partners, overseeing sustainability of Digital Skills Academy

  • Successful track record at driving sales teams to results across remote regions and diverse dynamics, and operational execution of global sales approaches and sales plays. Talent for recruiting and developing high-performance teams, making effective decisions, preparing tactical plans to achieve goals in aggressive time-frames.
  • Output and outcome focused. Extensive experience in enterprise software solutions.
