The Position:

 

The Senior Director, Software Engineering will be responsible for leading software development activities for CCM and drive the processes of aligning engineering efforts for this product group to the company’s strategic objectives. This role will report to the VP of Software Engineering and lead all engineering deliverables.

 

The successful candidate will implement processes that can be applied productively, predictably, with high quality and customer satisfaction across the organization.  The Senior Director, Software Engineering will play a key role in helping to formulate and execute strategies that promote repeatable software solutions to meet client requirements. Innovation is key to the continuing success of the CCM business, and the Senior Director will be expected to foster an environment of innovation, as well as lead and contribute to, the development of innovative solutions to challenging problems.

 

You are great at:

 

  • Directing and managing multiple diverse teams of engineering professionals in several countries performing research, development, design and/or implementation of products, services, solutions. Creating and communicating technical strategy within the organization and/or across the function
  • Owning & driving the end-to-end development effort for on-time, high-quality, highly scalable technical solutions that meet the product vision. Responsibilities span all phases of product development including:
  • Collaborating and aligning with architects and platform teams on proper architecture and design
  • Partnering with product management to ensure completeness and common understanding of product vision, roadmap & requirements.
  • Leading agile engineering teams to deliver end-to-end technical solutions that meet and exceed product expectations.
  • Driving the delivery of CCM products and services, managing and automating engineering in cooperation with operations
  • Understanding the customer experience and driving strong customer focus
  • Innovating and championing the application of new technologies like AI and Machine learning into the portfolio
  • Communicating product strategy and functionality - initiating and fostering relationships with other groups
  • Managing Headcount, deliverables and schedule for the organization ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated and that Goals, Objectives, Timelines and Budget are met

 

What it takes:

 

The candidate must have a minimum of 10+ years in product development in agile software development environments targeting on-prem and Cloud (SaaS and Managed Services).  The ability to explain complex technical ideas to a business audience is as critical as the understanding of, and experience in, leading talented research and engineering teams.  Specific requirements and experience include:

 

  • Demonstrated leadership experience setting the vision and building, leading and motivating development teams. Leads by example with creativity, strategic thinking, and innovation.   Productively drives change when necessary
  • Results-oriented with a proven track record of success leading an engineering team in a dynamic, frequently changing entrepreneurial environment where management of complex and often conflicting product requirements is a critical driver of success
  • Good communication skills and executive presence. Comfortable presenting to, and interacting with, all levels internally and externally
  • Proven ability to work with distributed global teams, across time zones and cultures
  • Proven ability to manage customer escalations and related communication with internal and external parties
