Lead Accountant

The Opportunity:


The Lead Accountant for Business Technology will be responsible for the management and ongoing administration of any business application within GSSC financial systems portfolio. This role is also responsible for identifying ways to make processes more efficient, offering continuous improvement recommendations, developing, and delivering system enhancements and providing training to the finance and accounting teams.

You are great at:


  • Administration of the Blackline Account Reconciliation, Task Management, and Transaction Matching System and other modules as needed which includes but not limited to accounting period management, reassignments, data management, and reporting responsibilities.
  • Prompt response and resolution to routine end-user queries.
  • Administration of current or future business application used by GSSC.
  • Provide hands-on, ongoing end-user support to ensure that business application is operating efficiently.
  • Cross-functional collaboration and communication to quickly understand, troubleshoot, find root cause, and resolve system issues for end users.
  • Prepare relevant reports within the application or business tool.
  • Lead and manage applicable system enhancements, including risk assessment, project planning, user support and training.
  • Perform user acceptance testing (UAT) of business applications, integration, and reporting.
  • Partner with key business stakeholders to build a continuous improvement environment including process optimization and automation.
  • Provide support to SOX controls and audit walkthroughs pertaining to business application.
  • Supports other assignments and ad hoc matters as required.


What it takes:

  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree in Accountancy, Business or Finance related courses.
  • Requires at least 8+ years of combined experience in professional accounting and as a Blackline Business Administrator preferably in a shared service or BPO industry.
  • Must be an excellent communicator both verbal and written, with strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills, has demonstrated ability to influence leaders through insightful and data driven recommendations.
  • Experience in SAP is required.
  • Ability to interact with IT and different functions, as well as various levels of management.
  • Ability to work with multiple priorities, handle several projects and work independently with minimum supervision while meeting critical deadlines.
  • Willing to work flexible hours.
