Payroll Specialist (Japan & China)

Your Impact:

 

You will be responsible for handling payroll duties for our employees in the APJ Region, focusing on Japan and China. This includes data input, auditing and editing of the data, generating relevant reports, and collaborating with other payroll team members. In addition, you will assist with streamlining and simplifying payroll processes and tools and supporting organizational changes and priorities. Your role requires providing exceptional customer service to all payroll stakeholders, maintaining confidentiality, and utilizing strong interpersonal skills and initiative. It is essential to have an excellent understanding of payroll practices.

 

What the role offers:

  • In-depth knowledge of the entire payroll process, including its various components and associated risks, is essential. Adhere to local regulations and controls while delivering exceptional and employee-focused payroll services and solutions.
  • Experience in handling payroll processes in China, Japan, or the Philippines for at least two years, including monthly and year-end tax procedures, is necessary.
  • Collaboration with the payroll provider, HR, and Finance teams is required to ensure accuracy and compliance. 
  • Responsibilities also include managing government filings, reconciliations, and year-end processes, as well as overseeing ESPP, stock options, social insurance, and pension remittances. 
  • Staying abreast of legislative changes and addressing special requests are also part of the role. 
  • Additionally, providing HR expertise and managing critical tasks with discretion is essential.

 

What you need to succeed:

  • At least 3 years of payroll experience in the Philippines, China, and Japan.
  • Preferred qualifications include experience with outsourced payroll packages such as ADP Globalview, Streamline, Celergo, Immedis, etc., and SAP SuccessFactors HCM experience.
  • Experience with implementing new payroll platforms and systems integrations.
  • Time management, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills are essential.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team, issue-resolution skills, and excellent written and oral communication skills in English are also required.
