The Opportunity:
The Security Assessment Engineer role includes a multitude of tasks including but not limited to the
preparing, continuously monitoring scans in progress, advanced web application, parallel tasks, and
validation of scan results of a given test. Serves as a mentor for other teammates and can act as a
backup to the Technical Lead as needed Work as a team to deliver quality results to the customer.
You Are Great At:
- Prepares and sets up WebInspect scans per methodology.
- Monitors WebInspect progress during scan, correcting any issues as needed.
- Performs false positive validation and quality assurance of scan.
- Performs manual vulnerability assessments per methodology.
- Performs quality assurance on web application vulnerability assessment.
- Experienced/Seasoned/Matured
- Handles priority scans or scans that have a special need for a more advanced skillset.
- May be required to work with Leads to answer client/TAM inquiries.
- Acts as a backup for Operations Lead or Technical Lead whenever necessary.
- Universal
- Develops knowledge on vulnerabilities and how different attacks work.
What It Takes:
- Highly trainable and willing to learn new and emerging web security technologies
- Knowledge of WebInspect, basic HTTP and HTML concepts, and basic networking concepts
- Advanced web vulnerability assessment and penetration testing skills.
- Mastery of all PT modules and tools, expert HTTP and HTML concepts, and solid networking concepts
- Notable knowledge of vulnerability handling and validation
- Notable understanding of basic security concepts
- Ability to work under pressure and with minimal supervision
- Excellent attention to detail
