The Opportunity: 

Reporting to the Manager, Cash Application, the Sr. Cash Application Administrator brings their strong experience in global cash applications to assist our AR function in ensuring we effectively deliver incoming and outgoing cash targets, while maintaining integrity and accuracy in financial transactions and reporting requirements. He/She is a strong team player, working with peers and other AR stakeholders to continuously support best-in-class cash application processes, including process automation and practices. Integration is a way of life for us so you will bring your best practice mindset to continuously strive for flawless execution on every integration.

 

You Are Great At:

  • Designated point person and accountable for applying the payments to the customer accounts, accurately and timely
  • Identify and resolve exception transactions and prepare or assist in corrections to resolve all errors and exceptions
  • Posting of daily cash receipts and resolution of any internal and external customer account inquiries regarding cash applications.
  • Distribute unapplied cash documentation/items to collectors
  • Research historical cash application activity when needed
  • Ensure payment application accuracy and timeliness per SLA and cash application metrics, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
  • Credit Card processing, including processing CC requests, customer enrollment for CC Automatic Payment, preparing Monthly Auto Run and reports
  • Partner with other functional areas within Finance (i.e., Banking, General Accounting) to ensure non-AR cash payments are applied appropriately, including completing inter-company cash clearing account reconciliations.
  • Address payment issues and other discrepancies such as overpayments, short payments, forex adjustments, etc.
  • Act as a SME and provide support to junior Cash Application Administrators to effectively learn all cash management activities.
  • Responsible for ensuring queue of customer account payment discrepancies are resolved effectively
  • Assist leader and AR peers in maintaining and improving processes and practices for cash management activities, including process automation goals
  • Assist your leader in other project/initiatives as assigned to deliver on best-in-class processes and practices for the cash application mandate. 

 

What It Takes:

  • College/University in an Accounting or Finance related area of study preferred but not mandatory
  • Completion of, or working towards the CCP designation (Credit Institute of Canada) an asset
  • 4+ years of demonstrated success working in a commercial Cash Application, Accounts receivable, or Order to Cash preferably in a Shared Services or BPO environment
  • Experience in B2B is preferred.
  • Strong customer service mindset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication at all levels in the organization to resolve customer issues
  • Strong organization and time management skills, with demonstrated success managing multiple priorities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, and Microsoft Office products
  • Self- starter with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Demonstrated ability to drive a culture of learning and collaboration with your peers and help them to be resilient in a continuously changing environment
