The opportunity:

 

The Senior Quality Assurance Engineer’s role is to effectively analyze requirements, create, execute comprehensive test cases in a timely and accurate manner, for simple to complex functionalities in one or more concurrent projects. You are also responsible for identifying possible root causes of defects found in supported applications. And you are also expected to serve as one of the team’s subject matter experts and be able to assist other QA members.
 

You are great at:

  • Analyze, understand, and define test scope and estimates based on requirements, technical design documents and Customer Acceptance test results.
  • Create test strategies, update, and execute comprehensive test cases, record test progress and results.
  • Communicate test results to project stakeholders.
  • Identify and record issues using a defect management tool .
  • Perform necessary tests to validate fixes (e.g., defect verification).
  • Work with the development team to resolve any issues that arise out of the testing phase.
  • Create QA Exit Report (or similar documents).
  • Inform the project/team lead of any risks or issues that may affect the schedule, and quality of the application.
  • Understand and adhere to QA processes.
  • Perform non-functional tests such as basic automation, security testing and performance tests as needed.
  • Recommend and implement suggestions or process improvements.
  • Provide production support as needed.
  • Mentor and share professional/technical knowledge with team members.
  • Assist QA Lead in various activities as required.
  • May lead project meetings such as peer review, post-mortem, training and QA updates.

 

What it takes:

  • Educational Requirement: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in relevant discipline. 
  • 5-8 years of mostly relevant experience with highly developed professional/technical skills.
  • Proficient knowledge and experience in: 
    • Requirement Analysis
    • Software Development Life Cycle (e.g., Waterfall, Agile, etc.)
    • MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
    • Tools like SQL, JIRA, and others
  • Knowledge/exposure on any programming language (e.g., C, C++, Java, JavaScript, SQL, etc.). 
  • Preferably with experience/knowledge in automation (Selenium) or performance testing (JMeter, LoadRunner). 
  • Be coachable and receive mentoring from experienced team members and demonstrate open-mindedness on new perspectives.
  • Makes decisions that consider and impact the scheduling, planning and successful completion of project / function deliverables, guided by professional/technical expertise, known practices and established precedents.
  • Effective in communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Innovative, creative & critical thinker, process-oriented, strong attention to detail, collaborative, analytical, adaptable, independent, self-motivated, with high level of accountability.
