The Opportunity:

 

We are currently seeking a Senior Business Analyst with deep technical expertise to join our Business Insights and Analytics team.  Individuals should demonstrate intellectual curiosity and passion for solving problems with an eye for optimization and efficiency.  This role currently owns the analytics function for our commission's team and will quickly expand into multiple lines of business within the SMB/C organization, including Sales, Renewals, Business and Revenue Operations, and Finance.

 

You Are Great At:

 

Our professionals need to work across multiple database systems to provide a holistic view across multiple business divisions.  Your deep technical expertise in SQL or SQL Server, combined with the strong business acumen of SaaS metrics in a subscription business model, will enable you to quickly and accurately model, query, and wrangle data in preparation for data analysis and/or application development.

 

Application development:

 

You will work both independently, and in partnership with other BI Developers, to manage the dashboard development experience throughout the full dashboard lifecycle: from gathering report requirements and meeting with stakeholders, to develop the data model and specific dashboards, to ongoing tuning and enhancements as required.

 

This position requires the individual to provide planning, estimation, scheduling, prioritization, and coordination of technical activities related to dashboard development with multiple stakeholders. Accountable to business and technical stakeholders for end-to-end application scoping, planning, development, and delivery that meets and exceeds quality standards.

 

 

Data analysis, visualization, reporting, and storytelling:

 

You will deploy various data analysis technics including, including but not limited to exploratory, descriptive, diagnostic, cohort, time series, moving average, and forecasting.  Your analysis will be presented using various data visualizations in business intelligence tools such as Tableau and Power BI.

 

The ability to perform more advanced analytical techniques such as predictive, prescriptive, clustering, classification, optimization, regression, Naive Bayes, neural networks, decision trees, and text analysis are not required.  However, analytical skills such as these will add value as organizational data readiness matures.  Similarly, technical skills with respect to QlikView, R, or ggplot2 would be helpful.

 

Your analysis will be used to transform business processes, improve internal controls, improve the efficiency of operations, and increase transparency and performance management. Our environment requires self-motivated individual who is willing to develop solutions on their own or in a team of highly skilled professionals.

 

 

What It Takes:

  • 3-5 years of data analysis and application development experience
  • Intellectually curious, conceptual, and analytical thinker
  • Conscientious and organized with strong problem-solving skills
  • Results-oriented with thoughtful actions, flexible and collaborative
  • Proven experience with querying, wrangling, and analyzing data in SQL
  • Proficiency in writing and debugging SQL queries
  • Proficiency with BI tools such as Tableau, Excel, and Power BI
  • Experience with leveraging data from CRM and ERP systems
  • Experience designing and implementing data models
  • Proficiency in navigating data architecture
  • Ability to work concurrently across multiple technologies
  • Experience in optimizing dashboards with a focus on usability, performance, flexibility, and standardization
  • Experience in end-to-end implementation of BI projects for developing a portfolio of scorecards, KPIs, reports & dashboards
  • Experience in synthesizing SaaS analytics themes and key performance indicators – storytelling with data
  • Project experience drawing conclusions from quantitative and qualitative analysis, to deliver actionable next steps or make helpful recommendations to marketing, sales, finance, and operations colleagues or leaders
  • Have a working understanding of data visualization best practices, development processes, and knowledge of typical BI & analytics tools and technologies
  • Ability to integrate reporting components from multiple data sources
  • Knowledge and experience with driving projects, facilitating BI tool demos and managing stakeholders across different levels
  • Provides technical expertise in the diagnosis and resolution of an issue, including the determination and provision of workaround solution or escalation to owners
  • Comfortable fulfilling ad-hoc business analysis requests as needed
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple parallel assignments and meet specified milestones
  • Ensures delivered solutions meet technical and functional/non-functional performance requirements within.
  • Manage day-to-day technical challenges and communicate to project manager/stakeholder any risks or issues associated with the development activities

 

For Colorado residents, this job is expected to pay in the range of $59,000 to $89,0000 USD in addition to a comprehensive and competitive group benefit and healthcare plan. Individual compensation will be determined based on skills and experience comparable to the job requirements.
