As a Principal Software Engineer working on a large multi-tenant B2B platform in the cloud you are an elite engineer specialized in development of highly distributed java based microservices application platform that enables supply chain data transformation between major customers and their trading partner. You have strong fundamentals in java programming language, multi-tiered distributed architecture, database fundamentals in both relational and NoSQL, messaging middleware, REST based SOA, transport protocols such as HTTPS, SFTP etc. You also have worked on modern software development methodologies such as Agile scrum with highly distributed functional teams. You have strong working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines with container based orchestrated deployments such as Kubernetes. You are skilled at analyzing and solving complex software problems and be able to design and implement solutions in collaboration with Product Management, Enterprise Architects, and other stakeholders. As a Principal Software Engineer you are skilled in team building, including understanding the strengths and weaknesses of individual members of your team, and helping them to be successful and produce a world-class, high-quality product. You are experienced in technical leadership, and you are not afraid to make the technical calls that will sometimes be unpopular. You take responsibility and are accountable for the product you lead. You know how to coach, teach guide, inspire, and strengthen the engineers that you lead. You have excellent communication skills and can present your ideas and designs to the engineering teams and other stakeholders. You are passionate about code quality and security, and love finding new solutions to challenging and emerging security problems that vex customers.
At OpenText, we are seeking to empower a Principal Software Engineer with the ability to lead the technical direction of our products. You will lead and provide technical direction and operate without micromanagement
You bring to the table:
- Expertise in developing cloud-based applications and services using microservices-based architecture using Java, JavaScript.
- Expertise in working with data management systems such as Oracle, Postgres, big-data systems such as MapR, Cassandra etc.
- Experience with project management tools such as JIRA
- Experience with CI/CD Pipelines, Kubernetes Orchestration and Docker fundamentals. Experience with network protocols such as FTP/FTPS/SFTPS/HTTPS.
- Experience with messaging frameworks such as Kafka streams, HornetQ/JMS.
- Experience with build management frameworks/tools such as Jenkins, Team city and Gradle.
- Experience with UI frameworks such as AngularJS, Vue.js
- Experience with Java containers such as Apache Tomcat, Jetty, Drop wizard etc.
